I had heard and it does seem to be the case through testing that your thrall count affects your purge strength. However, I have also noticed that there seems to be a minimum the game will not go lower than for a purge. Has anybody heard anything similar or have actual numbers or facts for this?
did a lot of purges past week, and dont noticed it, the dificult vary with de gold in coffer, theres a big dificult spike from nv7 to nv8. Nine and ten i not tried, the eigthis dificult to handle, and seens to has the same loot table from 9 and 10.
So proximity does play a role in it, in the follower window your thralls will either have the little yellow dot on the left column or be sort of greyed out.
Only the thralls lit up will count towards your purge scaling.
So purges spawn in a “3 wave” system, there is an attacking wave, a traveling wave and a spawning wave. So a tier 1 purge by default will spawn 3 enemies, after about 15 seconds a second wave of 3 will spawn. No more enemies will spawn until at least 1 enemy is killed from either of the previous waves and then a third wave will spawn and the cycle continues.
Here’s some initial scaling numbers (For prisoner waves ignore these numbers, they just go crazy):
Tier 1: Default is 3 enemies per wave + 1 demo, once you reach 4 thralls in proximity it will scale into 4 enemies per wave.
Tier 5: Default is 5 enemies per wave + 1 demo, once you reach 10 thralls it scales into 6 enemies per wave
Tier 8: Default is 5 enemies per wave + 2 demo, once you reach 3 thralls it scales to 7 enemies per wave + 2 demo
Tier 10: Default is 5 enemies per wave + 2 demo, if you have even 1 thrall it scales to 8 per wave + 3 demo.
As you increase your thralls the wave numbers will increase to a higher number per wave that does have a limit, all I have above is how many thralls it takes for the waves to do the first instance of scaling.
Also, this does not include if there is a second player character, I tested these in singleplayer and I know players increase scaling but I do not know how many thralls they count for.
My base is guarded by a total of 19 fighters and archers. In a level X purge there are on average up to 15 waves, each wave with a total of up to 20 attackers.
