To update or not to?

I haven’t downloaded the last three so called updates. Is this game in its current state playable or should I wait? The dye system seems very annoying along with the inventory sorting b/s. Thanks for any feedback.

i mean… it’s playable yes. it is certainly not in the best state that it’s been in since i started playing, though. dye and inventory are both annoying right now. combat is improved over how buggy it was at the beginning of AoW, but in my opinion if there was nothing in the game 3 updates ago to keep you in it, there probably won’t be anything since then to get you back into it.
i’d say go ahead and give it a shot, you might have some fun, but then again maybe not. thumb-in-the-middle type of thing, ya know?

Thanks for the input. I play solo offline now so I can just keep it the way it is and hope they fix these issues soon.

Good call. I’m done with the current mess they’ve made of the game, when I start playing again it’s going to be on an older version. Luckily we can download old versions using the SteamDB and Steam console.

How will you do this? In Steam, you cannot completely block game updates, at least I haven’t found a way.

I use a PS so I just have it disconnected from the internet. So, the game is frozen in time so to speak.

There’s a good guide to downloading old versions here: Steam Community :: Guide :: How to: Playing old builds.

Thank you. But this is a version of the game without mods, as I understand it.
I would like to play calmly offline with all mods…
This was possible before.
