To Wipe or Not to Wipe, that is the question!

So, we run a rental server that’s been active since EA. We performed a full wipe at launch but toggled the Decay system off as it was still buggy. Now many months down range we’d like to implement the decay system but have had limited success. Some of our older buildings (even those long ago abandoned) show a full life cycle upon inspection with a hammer…even though no members of that tribe play anymore.

However, some of the newer folks stuff is decaying as advertised and a repair hammer shows an appropriate count down on things like bedrolls, etc. We’ve tried several passes (both dashboard, ini, and server settings) and nothing seems to bring the entire server into the current decay system.

So we’re thinking of a full wipe, and maybe toggling from an early EA format of PVE-C to full on PVP to see if that works. Still, we’ve some impressive structures (admin built dungeons) that we’d like to preserve, so we’re not eager to go forth and test - even though we can reload a backup and restore the previous iterations.

If anyone has a good primer on how to set decay/abandonment (decay 101 please) through a dashboards or INI please post a reply. I searched the topic and couldn’t find any replies with the details to take one more stab at it before wiping.
