Yes, you are correct.

New Modding code of conduct…

Being rude and stealing from other mods is now officially banned…

Also, ToT!Custom is back on the workshop, so I believe this and all similar threads are now solved

I am very glad to see this has come to this conclusion. I deeply hope lessons were learned all around, by both modders and Funcom.

Well… Bye… to RA Customization.

Did she leave because they unbanned that other guy?

Too bad, RA was one of the best mods for CE, I also enjoyed her streams, they were really relaxing.

So, surprise, it was about copyright and being rude. Oh my, on the internet? What a surprise.

Will we see apology threads from those who accused Funcom of banning mods for one imagined reason or another?

Why should ANYONE apologize to Funcom? The point that they did not communicate properly was and is valid. Now that we (kind-of) know what was going on behind the scenes it seems all the more inappropriate how they have handled the situation.
I take it that this resulted in one modder, the young woman behind RA, giving up on her development. And although I never used her mod, I am sorry to see her go, as I do know that a lot of people loved her work and in that sense she deserves to be respected and thanked for.
I genuinely wonder if FC tried to mediate between those two.

What would you expect them to do? Publically claim that dude A was breaking the law, did this or did that before resolving the issue? Try that approach with a legal department…

I am not sure that any law was broken here. If it had been, then it would always have been possible to say something along the lines of ā€˜for legal reasons’ or ā€˜due to a potential copyright infringement’.

this whole thing is over. i hope everyone learned something. i hope modders learned something, i desperately hope mod users learned something, and i hope funcom learned something.
i know i learned something – don’t be quick to judge, don’t involve myself in shit that has nothing to do with me, don’t pay attention to drama no matter how entertaining it might be, do reach out to any modders out there whose work i want my mods to interact with, do be kind and try to understand both sides, or if lacking the information to understand either side then wash my hands and let others handle it.

Actually doing this could complicate things for funcom legally if the matter ever went to court if they had mentioned it.

Do you care to elaborate on this?

Why should Funcom communicate to some random forum worm about their decisions regarding third parties?
I am 100% sure they did communicate to that other dude why they took off his mod but it was him who did not disclose that fact to users of his mod.

Anyway \some’ people will never understad it and there is no point in reposting same sentences hundred times.

It is sad that Funcom allowed all this to continue and as a result we have our top most appreciated modders leave the hobby while some other devs who make top mods decided not to add any new features to their mods as long as this continues…

Truly every time it takes just 1 person to ruin entire community, be it in a MMO guild or other games. But this is the first time I see something like that in a modding community. It’s just really sad to watch it happening because this time it really affects the entire community.

If my mod was removed from the workshop… I might be concerned people would drop my mods because they couldn’t be certain I wouldn’t run afoul of something else in the future…

My bad Noqturn, I didn’t mean to reply to your post, so I deleted it and I’ll repost it here. XD

I’m just glad everything worked out well enough.

What’s to elaborate on, this was a copywrite dispute and legal matters are confidential.

It is just good that it’s all worked out fine in the end.
