Every day that passes I see server population across the board dropping. It’s really just kind of sad at this point lol.

You would be wrong this topic was made into a mega thread which was locked which is why the OP posted this one technically making it spam. FC won’t reverse course on this just because fanboys flood the forum with the same uninformed statement.

They could lock this one too and another would crop up almost immediately - This isn’t something FC is going to be able to brush under the rug.

So people want FC to keep players updated on this mod.

Can someone please explain how FC is supposed to manage what mods they have to babysit for the player base?

Yes the game is open for modding but seriously, why does this mod get special treatment but a mod that allows all spears to be pillows shouldn’t get the same treatment?

I’m actually good with how FC is handling this because it’s equivalent treatment regardless of number of users which also promotes new mods to come on board since they will be treated the same as Tot or Piffy or whatever you PC folks do.

So no one posted on this thread for several hours.

And you thought you would come on here and add to the conversation and keep the thread going?

Likewise.

Huh? Kittenish posted an hour before my post. It’s clear this thread isn’t going away and so I put in my two cents worth (which you conveniently ignored). So again, what makes this mod so dang special that FC must respond?

What is upsetting you so much?

I’m not upset. And strike 2. you still haven’t answered the question. So again, what makes this mod so dang special that FC must respond?

The fact that Funcom took it down. I’m not saying I agree with that, but it happens to be the answer to your question. :man_shrugging:

Not necessarily the people. Mainly the mod author. Since that is what they should be doing if they actually care about the community as they claim.

Simple. The mods they decide to have problems with.

Officially, we don’t know why this mod got the special treatment of being removed.

If this is supposed to set an example of how mods will be treated, it does the exact opposite.

So no other mod has been removed?

I’m sure this is not the first mod that has been removed. I’m equally sure that this is the first popular mod that has been removed by Funcom.

What we’re seeing is the backlash because Funcom removed something that many people use and love. When you think about it, it’s no different than a big nerf or a revamp.

Like I said, I don’t really agree with people who keep asking Funcom to communicate about the status of this mod.

But let’s be clear, they’re not asking Funcom to “babysit” mods. They’re asking about the consequences of Funcom’s actions.

Don’t worry @erjoh we’re slowly gunning for the consoles too!
Our master plan is to make you addicted to all the mods :joy:

Yes but the only person they owe an explanation to is the mod creator. Not a bunch of spoiled kids who want to be given everything. As a general rule acts of Administrative Action / Moderation are not to be discussed even on the forums.
The fact is the mod creator knows why his mod was removed and is wise to keep quiet as it could lead to legal issues. Remember upon purchase and installation of the game you accepted Funcoms Terms & Conditions and Code of Conduct clauses which are legally binding.

FC will not respond to them except with bans and suspensions because they don’t owe the community an explanation. Regardless of everything it is Funcoms game to do with as they please.

Technically correct but that wouldn’t be one of those great company imagine things.

However to be slandered into bad image because of a mod what violated a term was taken down…i would seriously start looking at model support in general. With the new revenue structure, mods are competing against the sales of the product. There have been a sizeable number of players that have vocalized How they refuse to participate in the new revenue model but still enjoy it via mods. This has placed mods in direct conflict with FC and it’s probably PR reasons that mods are still tolerated. If PR still suffers or mods are deemed too much hassle then it’s only logical to severe support entirely.

Mods are in a very precarious situation and this lash out only makes it worse.

Please note. I do not work for FC and I know they have had great relationships with the modding community. This is a strictly business POV which is a bit more draconian removing most fluff variables from decision making.

I don’t think that any amount of backlash or positive encouragement will change Funcom’s policy on mod support. That decision is solely in the wheelhouse of Tencent.

Killing mod support would tank the PC population overnight. You’re correct that mods exist in short-term competition with DLC, but the long-term playerbase that they help create only bolsters profits for the company.

I have about 4000 hours on the game and I’ve never done a full vanilla playthrough. Despite all my time on modded RP servers I own every single pre-Bazaar DLC and would probably buy more DLC packs of similar size and value.

Tot!Custom is an amazing mod that, after playing with it for a while, feels almost required to play Conan Exiles. Without it, character creation and design feels extremely limited for players. To the RolePlay community of your game, this mod is the life-source of good character visualization and creation.

Funcom, I ask you to communicate about this situation with your players and community. We are left in the dark, and most importantly without a mod that we all love to use as players of your game. Without it, the game and the experience thereof would take a great step backwards in the fields of QoL, design, usability and character creation.

Funcom, please reconsider your actions and reinstate Tot!Custom on the Steam Workshop.
Thank you.
