Toxic guard spam

@FuncomNews

Please make it so that guards travel back home after some time when they are not near some player owned structures.
Background : On the server i am a toxic mega clan who basically already harras and oppresses 60% players on the server to be their slaves , they put down 20 animal guards onto the base they raided everytime they raid someone so that there is no chance for you to rebuild your base in a useful way , in general , there must be a fix for such guard/thrall spam

  1. Why can you place guards onto other players structures and from other players claimed land (for an endless long time)?
  2. Why can you place thralls on guard wherever in the wild for an endless amount of time?
  3. Why can you build endless high towers placing foundation on foundation, they should lose stability like other building parts , also pilars so that you can build like 15 etages but not more (ok thats another topic sorry…)
So many game mechanix problems and everyone is instantly abusing them …

Wrapup: Less DLC’s more smart game mechanic and balance thinking, Funcom please !

I don’t believe you can place animals/thralls within another player’s land claim, can you? Just outside of it, sure, so yes it can definitely be abused even then but let’s get our facts straight, eh?

Yes you can , i can make a screenshot, how do i make a screenshot on PS4 and upload it here please ?

However in general thralls in guard mode should “travel home” after 120 mins or even faster when they dont stand on ground claimed by you , this troll clan is even blocking major travel ways with tons of guards so you cant pass at pvp time and there isnt any structure nearby from that toxic clan , people abuse everything they find no matter how little it is , even if you dont want to believe it. Thats why you cant play PC multiplayer because 50% is hardcore cheaters with wh/esp aimbot , but well thats another story.

Oh I fully believe people can and will abuse, exploit or outright cheat to eke out every tiny advantage they can. There’s a reason I gave up on PvP games before most of today’s young gamers were even born: it’s 99% hassle, 1% enjoyment (since I refuse to partake in such activities myself).

That said I have previously tried and failed to place a thrall on enemy land, so if that’s now possible it’s news to me.

to do that you have to make them folow u until you are on enemy land, then make them unfolow, and therefor, guard the place, even if it’s not your own

But doesn’t that set them to scouting mode and make them return to your base eventually (I think after 30 mins or so)?

to that i can’t say, my thralls only work for me, i do the fighting part^^

I think an invasion and occupation management is an ordinary way to force your opponent to submission. Some players treat the sandbox as a war zone. However if you are constantly spawn camped, I suggest that you try to spawn to the beginning instead.

well this might be right, but still, others being able to put thralls in guard mode on your claimed land stays bad, eighter its an exploit or just bad game design , however , its somehow working and is a bad thing, people come raid you and the first thing they do is placing 31 animals onto your claimed land, what gameplay is that , my a…

The guards and pets would need to be fed. Maybe the answer rests in the upkeep department.

To the best of my knowledge, yes - scout mode, not guard mode. There’s a vast difference.

Yes, in theory.

Of course I suppose they are in scouting mode, but usually they… just stand up where you abandoned them for a while.

“a while”… well I lost the count of all people who lost their companions, so I don’t think it’s just 30 mins or so.

But obviously maybe it’s bug they don’t return faster to their last guard position.

Half an hour feels quite long for the job. Could be good to be able to tweak it.

yes food system is awkward broken , but still, it should not be possible to place thralls in guard mode onto other players claimed land , and however the food system will be “hopefully” changed to a more proper one , you could put a ton dried fish or meat into a guard and they will stay feed for a real life year or so because atm they eat everything that is “food”.

The core problem with this guard mode everywhere ect is, that its simply the almost always toxic “alpha” clan on every server wants to know if you still active in the area they raided you so they find you always and harrass and raid you down until you “quit” because thats what they really want , that you “leave the server” because sad but true very much humans (age matters) are toxic f****heads that want to see you broken and quitting in rage, and the actual game mechanics support this often in direct or subtle ways.
They dont want you to come back on your feet and things like public game info on PSN where you are by standard, guardmode possible everywhere and some other things i dont mention here to not derail too hard are the reason that this works relatively easy.

No , the ones I speak about are not in scout mode (i am not stupid even some people think i am), they are clearly in guard mode you can see this when you move up to them it says “guarding” and they stand on my claimed land some on foundations some on normal ground since a week .

I’m aware of that behaviour. I hope we get to a comfortable compromise. :slightly_smiling_face:

Karsten,

If someone is leaving unattended thralls on your lands through whatever glitch land claim method or whatever, you can knock them out with a pike with a blunted fitting and drag them to your own wheel for capture. Then you can redeploy them as yours  The best part about knocking out enemy thralls rather than killing them is that it doesn’t show on the event log. As for animals, you can construct an impromptu gas chamber around them (so they cant run away) and start gassing them. You can also get relic hunter archers and give them gas arrows. For some reason they seem to do gas damage to anything hostile regardless if they have a gas mask or not.

Interesting

You can use a truncheon as well or even bring a thrall of your own with a truncheon but understandably some thralls can really do damage thus the need for a specialized pike.

I gave a truncheon to my thrall and I just use the rope. He does the whacking and I do the dragging.

What do you mean by a specialised pike?
