Basic Info:
Platform: Steam
Issue Type: Gameplay
Game Mode: Single Player
Server Type: PvP
Map: Exiled Lands
Server Name: Local
Mods: None
Bug Description:
Not so much a bug as an oversight but when exchanging treasures at the Treasure Coffer for gold coins, the exchange rate does not take the server’s Crafting Cost Multiplier into account. This means that if the Crafting Cost Multiplier is below 1, exchanging treasure will give the player gold coins in excess of the value needed to craft the same said treasure. If the Crafting Cost Multiplier is above 1, then the exchange will give the player less than the value of the resources needed to craft that treasure. In all cases, the exchange assumes that the Crafting Cost Multiplier is 1.
In conclusion, this can break the economy for servers with a Crafting Cost Multiplier less than 1 because it allows players to generate new resources through repeated exchanges with the Treasure Coffer.
I have tested this on a dedicated PC server with mods and locally instanced on my PC without mods. The result was the same in both cases.
Bug Replication:
- From Settings → Server Settings → Harvesting: Adjust the Crafting Cost Multiplier slider to any value that is not 1.
- In the game world, construct a Treasure Coffer.
- Construct any treasure in proximity of the Treasure Coffer. Note that the crafting cost of the treasure has been affected by the Crafting Cost Multiplier.
- Activate the Treasure Coffer Accountant. Click any treasure to highlight, then click on the button “Exchange Treasure”. Note that the value of gold coins offered in exchange is unaffected by the Crafting Cost Multiplier, therefore different from the value of the resources spent to craft that treasure.
