First of all, I’m genuinely excited about the update to Unreal Engine 5.
However, I do have some concerns. Not necessarily about the implementation itself, but about something that may be outside of Funcom’s direct control → server stability.
Like many others, I regularly play on different servers, both on Exiled Lands and Siptah, mainly on official servers. From my experience, the overall gameplay quality and server performance tend to decline significantly as player numbers increase.
With the upcoming changes, it seems likely that player populations could become more concentrated. If servers end up hosting both the usual Exiled Lands players and additional Siptah players at the same time, I’m concerned about how well the servers will handle that load.
To be more specific, in my opinion even 15–20 concurrent players can already push some servers to their limits. Issues like inventory bugs are still present for some players, which makes me wonder how things will scale under increased pressure.
I really hope this aspect is being considered alongside the technical upgrade, as stable server performance is crucial for a good player experience.
