UE5 Update – Building Stability and Base Loss Concerns

Hello @Dana,

I would like to ask for clarification regarding the upcoming Unreal Engine 5 (Conan Exiles Enhanced) update and its potential impact on player-built structures.

I have a few concerns:

  1. Has the transition from UE4 to UE5 been fully tested regarding building stability?
Specifically, is there any known risk of structures losing stability or collapsing after the migration?

  2. Is it recommended to rebuild or avoid certain building types (for example, DLC structures) before the update?
In previous situations, some building pieces have been reported to behave inconsistently after updates.

  3. In the event that a base is lost due to a technical issue (such as stability loss, migration error, or server-side problem), is there any form of support, rollback, or recovery available for players on official servers?

  4. Are there any preventive measures you recommend players take before the update to avoid potential base loss?

I would appreciate any clarification you can provide, as this is a major concern for players with large or complex builds.

Thank you for your time and support.

yes, no, no, no

Here’s how I see it:

  • Anything placed in the world is at risk. That stash chest full of thralls or rare items? There’s a real chance it could just disappear.

  • Bodies (the classic “body vault”) are the safest way to store valuable items. Especially your own character.

So if you’ve got anything truly valuable, move it to a body. Even if something goes wrong, it’s far more likely Funcom could restore followers than recover a chest that vanished from the world.
