For a long time I have noticed an issue that has remained unaddressed. I mainly noticed this with a troll regularly spamming the brimstone lake for the last 12 months.
If a foundation is placed underwater, and a player is standing out of/above the water, the player cannot use a repair hammer to see any details of the submerged structures.

This has proved to be a nuisance in a few circumstances.

Steps on how to reproduce issue:

  1. Place structures underwater (shattered springs is a good option)
  2. Try to use a repair hammer to see details
  3. Details are unavailable unless the player is also underwater.

At the brim lake the player cannot possibly be underwater to check foundations.

I found a very simple solution for this bug, just stand over the foundation, look up and then you can see the details, make sure that the marker is pointing right above and is on the foundation (this also works to loot corpses underwater or any inventory that you can’t reach from above because there is water)

Unfortunately this does not work on console.

I use console, it’s a bit tricky I guess but it works
