I think undead lizard men should be buffed up, or given some fun skill that messes with the players. Entered Deathwisper ruins. A lot of spiders and some skeletons. A fun and good fight. Then, a towering undead lizard man. I sneezed, and it died… uh… so… what?
As it was set up at least I got the feeling that the skeletons were the minions, not the other way around. The basic skeletons were much harder to fight. So, the undead lizard man should be buffed. Or removed from that area.
Undead lizardmen aren’t bosses, except for the boss undead lizardman in the Unnamed City. Deathwhisper Ruins is in a low-level region so the critters in there are statted accordingly.
Spiders are scary, and undead are annoying because they’re immune to staggers. They’re not super-hard, but the undead lizardmen have a bleed effect on some of their attacks, and the confined spaces of the Ruins make them harder to evade, so lower-level players are facing a real challenge down there.
Im affraid I have to agree, they are anything but formidable regardless of biome. But its not just the Undead Serpentmen. I honestly find the regular Serpentmen in the Well of Skelos to be even worse. It is supposed to be a high level dungeon, which has a Ch.10 level Journey Step; ‘Destroy whatever dwells at the heart of the Volcano’. Yet we can stunlock every enemy in there to death, and they cannot even fight back. They should present a greater challenge than they currently do.
