Undocumented Changes

Greetings, fellow barbarians!

Shall we try to collect an unofficial list of undocumented changes?

Please stay on topic - discussion about any changes should be put into a separate thread, but confirmations (or negations) of changes is welcome here.

I’ll try to consolidate the list every once in a while.

Graphics

  • Starmetal Meteors emit smoke (again).

Building

  • Foundations cannot be padded with walls anymore, only with fence foundations. It still works if you place the walls first, though (information added, thanks to Kikigirl!).

Environment

  • [Isle of Siptah, M11] The lootable irons weapons in front of the PvE siege fortress in New Luxur were removed.
  • [Isle of Siptah] Underwater plants don’t give vines anymore.

Weapons, Armor, Equipment

  • (to be added)

Sorcery

  • Mass Cull doesn’t work in three waves anymore, but collects all material in a single wave.
  • Detect Resources has a limited duration now.
  • Skulls don’t dismantle into Sorcerous Lifeblood anymore, but into bones.
  • The flight ceiling of summoned bat demons may have been lowered on official servers (thanks to NotSureAboutThat!).

Technical and fixed bugs

  • The game now quits when quit, instead of running in the background indefinetly.
  • White and black horses don’t charge into battle any more.
  • An exploit to create flying bases with carpets has been fixed (thanks to NotSureAboutThat!).

New Bugs

  • [Exiled Lands] The teleporter at the end of the Grove of Jhebbal Sag doesn’t work correctly (thanks to FR0G!).
  • [Isle of Siptah] Taverns on the Isle of Siptah don’t work - no guests arrive.
  • Horses have infinite stamina under certain circumstances (thanks to NotSureAboutThat!).

What have you found so far? Let’s hear your discoveries!

The changes are numerous… here we only have 0.1%…

Thank you, but why do this? It’s not your job, you’re not getting paid… And 99% of the other modifications are missing; it would take months of unpaid work to document them all…

Play the game and enjoy it, don’t do their work for free.

They have 500 employees to do this, what do you expect to do all by yourself???..

Code is about millions of lignes… And not open… Soo how you analyse Code Source???..

Can you expand on what you mean with this? I’ve been able to place foundations inside walls.

Curious, I haven’t. Tested with several building sets. Doesn’t work whatever I place first. Maybe I’m doing something wrong if it works four you - will test more later.

Edit:

If I’m not hallucinating, you could place a wall where the red arrows points to in UE4. Doesn’t work for me in UE5.

The foundation to the left could be padded with a fence foundation, but a wall just won’t work.

When you finish the Jhebbal Sag dungeon and try to quit the dungeon, you instead get teleported a random place inside the dungeon and getting stuck.

Ya ok, so I place the walls first and then the foundation inside.

Soo oki you not analyse the Code, just try gameplay in game… Good chance just for construction you have millions of combinaisons possibles… Nead many years of works alone…

I am not sure you understand the Job of devellopper, the works need for make a report Update, for that a team about thousant of people is needed… Graphic Team, Texture team, Sound, Code, Security, devellopper, …

That works, correct! Just tried it.

By Crom, I wouldn’t dare to analyze the spaghetti code Funcom itselfs admits it has here. Just observations made with our human sensors, i. e. eyes and ears. And noses, if somebody should have noticed changes in the game’s smell.

It is impossible… you will try millions of combinaisons of all building???.. Same 1000 people can’t do in many years…

I don’t think you understand the point of this thread - it is for players not devs. It is listing changes that people have noticed that weren’t in patch notes. It’s not trying to do anyone’s job for them, it is just providing players with information.

I have a faint memory (and it is far from certain) that this may not have been possible in base game UE4 either - it may have been made possible by LBPR (which would be why I have trouble remembering for certain, and might, at a guess, be impacting your memory as well?) (Either way, Kiki has provided a solution, as you noted  )

Yes :).

But Funcom can modify all without tell us… Each day the Code is modify… Soo you can type here each changement, but tomorow change again…

Each patch = thousand of thousand changement in code.

it is a problem for write the WIKI… Read the Wiki of 2024, many many think has changed…

I opened another thread for discussions about this thread:

If, contrary to my assumption, a helpful moderator could move these parts of this thread there, it would be very welcome.

Here, please stay on topic, folks.

Old Flybase method with carpet has been fixed, but if you got a brain you will realize it is still possible to build a flying base.

Endless Stamina Bug with Jhil’s Gloves has been fixed but endless Stamina Bug for Horses has been added.

Edit:
I was not able to use the Bat on official servers to fly high in the air, in Singleplayer it was still possible. Not sure what’s going on there

Edit 2:
After the update to the Enhanced version banned Players were able to connect to official servers again. This has been changed in this week and banned players are not able to connect to official servers anymore

Need a pinned thread with all the actual fixes to link people to for.. well obvious reasons.

More of a graphical change, but the ceiling grates in the first room of the Warmaker Dungeon no longer dump sand all over characters below them.

New bug:
Sometimes when you place a new Thrall in the world, your benches dosent register them correctly - Workaround is recreating the benches.

Another new bug:
Npc’s (including animals) completely ignore doors/gates (and now walls) - Workaround is making a door up (so you have to climb out) this prevents them from sneaking in.

the past week, thralls could then pass through aesir frames and aesir double frames

from the recent mini-patch, they can’t again now…

and so now, when it was taking 5mn to check if there was a fly base here, and 5mn to go raid it, we will have to spend around 5h to check and probably around same time to try to raid it…

I think that unconscious thralls don’t fall through the floor anymore - haven’t seen a single incidence so far. Anybody did? If not, I’d like to add that as “fixed”. One of the most annoying bugs the game had imho.
