I took a break from this game and have recently returned. My first corrupted croc was a real shocker. After doing some research it appears that the current meta is to be your thrall’s sidekick. I was wondering if there were any opinions on stock Conan Exiles server settings that balance the endgame bosses enough to allow a player to solo play without thralls. (short of god-mode )
If a corrupted croc is to difficult for you i think you are low level with not so good gear.
At level 60 with decent armor and weapon, a corrupted croc is easy to beat solo.
Yes, well thank you for the response, but I think that you may have misinterpreted the point of the question.
As I build up my character and progress through the game I don’t want to play a supporting role to a thrall in combat. I was wondering what server settings (if any) are other people using to be able to solo places like the wine cellar or the warmakers dungeon, short of god mode or cloak from the admin panel. I would like for the challenge to remain, but I don’t want to hide in the corner like a schoolgirl while my thrall has all the fun.
Right now I am playing on civilized with purges and drop all items on death enabled, but I don’t know if that is a good balance of difficulty versus fun or if I am going to be bored by the endgame. On the other hand I am not sure that I will be able to do the high level dungeons solo at these settings without resorting to total cheese tactics since they were apparently designed as multiplayer environments.
What I was really looking for was what difficulty setting or slider settings (player damage, NPC damage, etc.) are other people playing with to have a challenging game but not play second banana to some guy I clubbed near Sepermeru? I don’t mind using the thrall system online, but I really just want to play my private game as the hero and be competitive against the bosses on my own. Also, I am not opposed to playing the general game on one set of parameters and modifying those for a particularly difficult instance and then returning the settings to ‘normal’ afterwards.
Or, it may just be that I’m the only person who wants to play like this. Either way, thanks for your time and input.
Damage multipliers. I have Player damage multiplier at 1.5 and NPC damage multiplier at 0.5 (which affects the damage my thralls does, too, so he/she has less impact in battles but also won’t die because the enemies do half damage to him/her, too).
I don’t get that reply. A low level thrall can easily defeat a corrupted croc. Its a legitimate beef with the game. Why would a well-equipped level 60 even want to mess with a corrupted croc? He’s way past that content.
The settings that Kapoteeni stated are great settings. You may have trouble with some bosses, where you are on the edge of your seat and white knukled, but they are doable. You may die a few times while learning how to defend/attack, but that is part of the fun. I bring a bedroll with me going into new areas. The majority of the time, I run around without a follower. Happy gaming.
As @Kapoteeni stated, use the damage multiplier to increase damage to NPCs. If you are still feeling pretty unsteady then I would recommend around 3.0 or 4.0.
As far as the warmakers sanctuary goes , if you are an Offline Singleplayer such as myself you can place Bedrolls down in most dungeons (eg- warmakers sancruary, the dregs, well of skelos, midnight grove, sunken city). So just lay plenty of bedrolls down as you progress, especially close to the bosses, then dust yourself off and jump back into the fray. Sadly we cannot build in the wine cellar, the black keep or the passage. So until you have done a few runs in the wine cellar to get used to it, Vitality 5 perk ‘Glutonous Gains’ in absolutely invaluable! And watch out for the armored skeleton sub-bosses, as they can 2 shot kill you.
