Please can you change the username hidden, you cant even see if someone from your own clan is online. Its a gift to trolls. Why on earth was that implemented?!?
I’m curious how that even works. On PS4 playing on a hosted server, I have never once seen it in effect. I have never come across a player not in the player list, I have never once seen my user name hidden from the list, etc. No matter what I tried.
Well its live on PC right now, apparently it’s an intentional change, all the names are hidden until someone speaks in chat.
Oh, so is this happening now? In my server I could saw everyone’s names, I think this fits really well the survival aspect, if one wants to remain undetected theres the choice.
The idea is supposed to be that you can’t quickly look and see who’s online then go raid them on servers with the no offline raiding rule. You’ll have to actually scout and make contact with the player or clan. It’s supposed to make it so that you never know how many people of a clan is on, so if you check the chat and see 1 name from a clan you want to raid and 6 anonymous people you’ll have to decide whether the risk is worth it to chance that those anonymous people are in that clan or not.

Then there is the opposite side of that. You don’t know if someone is on who will raid you. I would love to be anonymous if it was functioning on PS4, but that is because I raid everyone no matter who they are or what the situation is. The server I play on has event log set to “Admin” so there is no way to tell who did what, unless you see them do it, or look at the player list and guess who did it.
~ Off-topic, but Admin-only event log settings are super toxic. Because of that setting, I HAVE TO crush every single player I find to prevent them from destroying my things anonymously.
Thats exactly the case, now it’s impossible to know if the trolls on the server are gearing up and are all online to attack someone.
If you are a solo player, you’ve got to just sit in your base during PvP hours. Because you don’t know who is online anymore.
Just check battlemetrics, it’s deanonimized.

what worng with you? most survival games try TO BE realistic, in rust you cant see any1, so you always must pay attention to details, scout and investigate, you may be alone and feel safe, and with 10 minutes some army of freaks stalking you D
so this is good improvement, some people want stay hidden, let them be, i also think battle log and etc ruins some mystery part of game…

this isn’t rust. Being able to look at the log and figure out what happened is actually pretty awesome. There is a setting in the options for admin to change the settings for the log. if you don’t like it, get a server and make your own settings. However, I’ll tell you complete anonymity breeds toxicity, but also works in favor of smaller less powerful clans who would otherwise get crushed immediately for attacking someone. I just got the admin of my server to change the event log to “Everyone” last night actually. Now I need to be nice

Yeah it would be cool if people are actually fighting for power on PvP servers rather than just come on once a day to check the event log and band together with all big clans to crush a bunch of noobs.
No downsides here if we have anonymous logs and no player list.

You think its awsome that you have a crystal ball telling you all the stuff going on live on time? Do you also prefer to play admin mode? So ignorant to just wish for an easier game instead of actual balance.
