After around 500 hours in the Exiled Lands, I found my craving for the Purge was not satiated by official servers, and that most private servers sought to make the game easier.
Thus, Valkessa’s BARBARIC PURGE Server was born!
SERVER CONCEPT:
Here, you can expect to be purged hard and often. Your base will be destroyed. Your shalebacks will die. You will struggle to re-build your defences before the next purge threatens to wipe your existence off the map.
The purge is likely to hit you every 2-3 hours of playtime during purge hours, which are set as per the official servers. (I decided to restrict purge hours because there would simply not be enough time between purges otherwise to explore the world, do dungeons, etc.)
On this server, I would like to create an environment of Exiles struggling together to survive the harsh environment. If you prefer PvE over PvP, but likewise enjoy being challenged by difficult content, this could be the place for you.
OTHER SERVER SETTINGS:
Besides more frequent purges, I have limited thrall numbers to base 10 + 5 per clan member. This is both to increase the deadliness of purges and to emphasise the importance of finding the best thralls, gearing them well and levelling them up. Pets have also been ‘buffed’ by reducing crafting time to 1 hour, bringing it roughly in line with t1 thralls and providing a valuable early-game defence. Nothing else has changed from official server settings.
I am open to server setting suggestions from established players which make the game feel more fun, balanced and brutal.
