Very difficult to place anything

Has it become more difficult to place things down, or is it just because I can’t use the LBPR mod anymore?

I’m reaching the point where I’m just going to give up playing again. I can’t put benches down if anything else is within 500 square miles, I can’t put rugs down because “not enough contact with the ground”…I guess it doesn’t like ceiling/floor pieces?

Has it always been this bad, and I’ve just had it easy with mods?

I was wondering about that very same thing. I used that mod myself, so i could not tell, but i have difficulty placing even bedrolls and campfires.:face_with_raised_eyebrow:

I’m definitely feeling the lack of LBPR. I’ve managed to put a couple of small rugs down (the ‘Stygian’ ones), but they’re on foundations. I did have a problem putting a casting bench down earlier on ceilings - same ‘not enough contact’ message, but I just put it a bit more in the middle of the space, and then moved it after placing and it seemed ok. Biggest thing I’ve had to relearn is not standing too close to where I want to put a bench - overlap with player seems to be my biggest problem.

If only we had some vanilla players here for reference, like CONSOLE players

Vanilla here.

It’s basically the same.

Bug reported.

One of the greatest reasons i use mostly tier 2 benches is because they attach perfectly. Tier 1 and tier 3 are pain. Now when it comes to bazzar benches it’s omg sometimes, (for example the aesir blacksmith bench tier 1 needs foundations , cannot be placed on dirt or sand ) .

Rugs and carpets have sinking issues in times , others are completely invisible after you place them and the argosean dlc carpet needs rotation until it becomes green to attach, which doesn’t allow you at the same time to place it as you wish easily.

Some wall hanging braziers have issues too and go wild also .

The top notch bench on placing, even if it looks broken, is the dismantling bench. It’s by far the bench that you’ll place literally everywhere even if it doesn’t fit there  , simply love it .

I am happy you had mods to fix things for you, but ain’t it time vanilla to get fixed also? This game gathers small bits of frustration in each aspect ending up exploding the users.

Thanks for reporting.

It is almost like early access again. Just on a live game. The mod did not fix a problem, it was not one in UE4, I think. This work is done to improve the game for everyone. Eventually. From 9 years experience with CE i would suggest patience. A LOT OF IT!!!:face_with_bags_under_eyes:

It’s not a mod issue, I have the same problem on console, it’s become more complicated to place things for several months now

The December update changed things about stability. Maybe a longer standing issue that becomes apparent just now?

To fix placing down bedrolls and campfires, go to Settings > Server > Building. Check the box Allow Building Anywhere. If you are playing single-player game. Otherwise, turning this setting on could be a problem with other players building bases inside dungeons or too close/inside NPC camps.

Though this doesn’t seem to fix the issue of not being able to place down carpets and getting the ‘Not Enough contact with ground’ message. I tried placing the round Zingaran carpet on both ceiling and foundation pieces and got the same error.

The team working on LBPR plan to bring it to Enhanced. From what I’ve heard, unfortunately, real life has interfered with getting it out quickly (one has had computer issues and the other is down sick). Its coming, but it might be a bit longer yet.

First thing I do, it still is inconsistent. Let’s hope it gets addressed.

Good to know, thanks. I figured they had updates on their Discord, but I don’t use that so I hoped someone who did would eventually post here.

And yes, the “build anywhere” setting is enabled on my server. Not for this issue, but so we can build wherever we want.
