WARNING! Followers are useless now in combat and will die FAST

If that was aimed at me… since I was the one posting about armor…

Then mind your own business and stop telling me what to do… okay?
I’m not in the slightest bit frustrated with the game, I also don’t need thralls at all to fight a boss, in fact I was one of the ones advocating that indeed they need a nerf… I was simply making a post trying to help explain to people why their thralls might be even weaker than what they expected…
Cheers :stuck_out_tongue:

Play nice kids.

…but that’s what mods are for

Ummm…aren’t peaceable items like candle sticks and carpets a role-play mechanic…?

Not everyone thinks like you do mate. Everyone plays a game however they wish. Let them do the math if it’s what they enjoy.

I’m not sure if being dictated to by a team leader on how to play a game counts as enjoyment. Each to his own I guess.

He’s not exactly wrong here. You can choose to play in the wiki and use a calculator. Hell you can do all that without even buying the game (somehow that’s considered playing it in this argument). You can even tidy up your numbers further by downloading the devkit and snooping around (again doesn’t require purchasing the game).

But… if your results aren’t validated by actual gameplay and put to the test in practice. How much validation will said complaints have?

For example, the complaint about thralls losing HP. They lost HP because the value for their entry in monsterstattable was reduced. This also reduces the health of non-follower NPCs. Which means the foes you are fighting have less health.

Same thing with damage. The less damage followers do also affects the damage NPCs do. Follower damage is equal to their damage as non-followers plus the stats they get from levels and equipment.

Thus followers will always have better stats than their wild equivalents.

The ironic part about that is you don’t even have to play the game to know that. If they’re going to choose to do the math. They should at least do it correctly and accurately. Otherwise their opinions are no less anecdotal than someone who says, “well when I play, it doesn’t seem that bad.” Except since its personal experience rather than theory, it DOES carry more weight.

Didn’t read the entire thread-o-rage but there is an Authority stat now you have that is supposed to tie into your followers’ abilities. If that stat is 0 then it would make sense that your thralls are all squishy.

I would have sworn pets were not going to be touched in terms of reduction of anything. My undead went down as well as my greater leopards.

I had a lvl 10 Dalinsia Snowhunter beat the bone dragon and I did not have a single point in Authority. She had Heated Argument and Cimmerian Heavy Armor. It did help that a lot of the time when the dragon attacked Dalinsia would sink into the mesh and take zero damage though. Also it was a nail biter to the end. Who would die first?

Edit: I play barbaric SP with no mods.

If the pets (animals) weren’t nerfed, then human followers would get wrecked by wild animals. Your pets’ stats are DIRECTLY derived from their wild versions. Everything was toned down.

The end result is that player characters are stronger compared to pets and compared to normal wildlife and npcs. Followers are still stronger because of levels, equipment, and authority.

Yeah, I’m not gonna waste time with your responses. I’ve seen your toxicity when speaking with others recently and yeah, it’s pathetic. I’ve stated the feelings that PvE players have and you literally always respond with “you’re dumb. You need to get over it.” No one needs to see that. I’m done arguing the case. Believe what you want, but don’t be surprised when others disagree with you.

Sacrifices or converted to undead minions perhaps.

Earlier today I posted a potential fix for this 0 Grit issue in another thread in case someone is interested and missed it.
It only works if you have access to your game database though, so only single player and private server owners. For officials and consoles, you’re gonna have to wait for an official fix.

I took the Firespark’s (you tube guy in case you don’t know) advice and got a Cimmerian Zerker. Found a female, even. She’s not even level 2 yet. I have hopes she will be a solid companion.

As I said, the shock was just losing Ana. Before 3.0 we took down Razorback with no problem.

Yeah, good luck!

I did not experience this. Did you have a blade with Sunder on her? Also if you max Authority, make sure to choose the skill that increases your thrall’s stats. There’s also armor you can wear that increases your thrall. The other perk that gives you an extra thrall, just essentially gives you two ‘weaker-than-what-we-were-used-too’ thralls. Its just less forgiving if you make a mistake when you choose two thralls.

You can’t get a group together in a ghost town.
