Weapon Kicks and Incorrect Interactions with Poisons

Certain weapons have a bug with their kick attack that makes it so they apply weapon poisons and on-hit effects (such as, if a weapon causes bleed each hit, the kick will cause bleed).
These weapons include:
2h Warhammer, 2h Greataxe, Katana, Pike/Spear.
Here’s the warhammer for reference:

The 2h Greatsword applies poisons too, but that’s to be expected since it’s a downward slash.

None of the 1h weapons (mace, axe, longsword) apply poisons / on-hit effects so they’re working properly. Javelins can’t have poison applied, and daggers / claws have no kicks.
However, the short sword has a special kick that doesn’t apply on hit effects when it looks like it should.

A bit of a different issue but the short sword’s special kick only does an actual kick worth of damage, I would imagine this isn’t intentional.

This was done on the testlive but all results are the same on the live client as of 2.3 (I tested on both), I just happened to record the issues on the testlive while looking for other issues.


Please provide a step-by-step process of how the bug can be reproduced. The more details you provide us with the easier it will be for us to find and fix the bug:

  1. Put poison on any of the weapons listed above
  2. Kick your foe
  3. Transmit the poison from your weapon through your foot
  4. Or use the short sword and don’t poison anyone
