Weapon Upgrade Compatibility and Reversibility Question

Hello fellow players,

I have a question about weapon/tool upgrade mechanics, specifically regarding the Axe of the Lion. I know it can be upgraded in at least two different ways:

  1. Using a master weapon upgrade kit
  2. Adding a blunted weapon fitting

What I’d like to know is:

  • Can more than one type of upgrade be applied to the same weapon/tool simultaneously?
  • If not, is it possible to remove or change an upgrade once it’s applied?

No only one upgrade can be put on an weapon/tool at a time. Yes you can remove it. Completing the Journey tied to the Tinkerer’s bench unlocks the prying tool i believe its called , which removes upgrades from weapons/tools.

Prying Kit. I really could never recommend actually using it. The Prying Kit permanently reduces max durability by 50%. Just get a new version of the item you want instead.
