Weird issue while patching

So, each time I patch, I have to go through this routine of attempting to establish a connection with some random site, 21 times, before my patcher will move forward and allow me to enter the game, and I just wanted to report it. This begins to happen when I reach the final 2 files of the patching process, every time. This tells me those 2 files are never actually patching.

I can replicate this as many times as necessary. I am not using any antivirus software, I’m not using a VPN (though I can replicate the issue if I do use VPN), and in reviewing the network traffic on my own network - nothing I am doing is stopping this connection from occuring. I notice it says something about age of conan, perhaps this was an error in a recent push to the production environment?

It just keeps going. All the way until attempt #21 at which time the patcher decides to give up.

On the bright side, I can actually get into the game after this, but surely this inconvenience keeps some people from playing the game. Someone who doesn’t know to check logs probably assumes the game won’t work and never try again.

Thought you all should know!

p.s. the forum doesn’t allow me to post the actual URL in the thread. There are 2 separate URLs, one for Age of Conan EULA, and one for Age of Conan patch notes. Perhaps you have the SWL patch notes on that section of your website or something, I dunno, but it just seemed strange.

Is Age of Conan acting up and pointing to SWL or is SWL acting up and pointing to AoC? It’s unclear from your post and I want to make sure it’s in the correct forum.

SWL is acting up by trying to connect AOC

Yes, as Chartreuse has posted - I’m attempting to play SWL and the patcher is maybe being directed to AoC stuff, not positive. This is the correct game’s forum, but perhaps this should be in bug reports instead of support? I’m not sure it even is a bug. This could very well be what the patcher is supposed to do, not sure. I chose support because the game itself is functioning just fine for me, and after the 15-30 minute patch process each time, I get in with no issues.
