Don’t you think the affinity values are weird?
I don’t know the exact calculations used, but something doesn’t seems right. Simply using a subtraction system with the requirements numbers:
Faction Recruit is better than Dae-Sue in everything and Victor Cromely has only 2 more adaptability than her and still she has a worse score. But also the following values seems incorrect overall:
There is to my knowledge a malus when you don’t have the right sidesymbol (For the faction recruit the fist and so on).
Also the highest stat needed for the mission normally counts the most.
That’s why Ranavalona manages 6%
Virgil has the same amount of matching but a weaker primary stat.
And so on…
Oh, that could be the key to the calculations problems! Where do you gained that information? The Official Page and the Unofficial Guide (and other sites as well) do not mention it anywhere.
I know but this isn’t the problem, otherwise the Faction Recruit will have more affinity and the Quartermaster a lot less.
EDIT: the theory about not having the right traits isn’t valid for mission with only one trait and these are the proofs:
These missions have the same requirements, but different traits and all the agents have the same affinity with both, even Sarah Skelly and Liam Callahan who have the correct traits for the first and the second mission respectively.
Honestly, the reason that there isn’t very in-depth information on how to calculate Affinity on the Agent Network Master Guide is because we don’t know the formulae involved. I’ll endeavor to look into it though!
Something I at one point picked up on the flyby. Since I at that moment didn’t care much for it I didn’t pay to much attention and would have to confirm it on my side. But if memory serves right it was some kind of malus under certain conditions, the rest was calculated based on a weighting scale and some mission difficulty modifier.
Edit: Found it! It’s 8% I believe per non matching trait that you get less.
Traits don’t affect your affinity unless the trait text specifically says that it will when matched.
Doing “simple” math isn’t going to give you much as the affinities are weighted. The higher affinity requirement will have more “weight” to it than the lower ones. You’re attempting to compare apples to kumquats.
You are thinking of the wrong traits…he means the side symbols and there is a weird special condition on elite/purple missions connected to it. You can test it yourself if you like.
Traits are half as good for being secondary (so a double-stat with both matching is 75% as useful as the primary stat one) I’d guess the 3rd stat is 1/4 as important as primary but the numbers end up small enough it’s hard to tell. You can’t just calculate the affinity from stats + requirements though because the mission tier and difficulty has hidden extra factors.
I’ve given up on trying to figure this out after seeing that two of my agents had equal base affinity for a purple mission, but different affinity after being equipped with the same piece of gear. There’s more going on than flat percentage penalties. Like multipliers.
