Were the official servers wiped for this update?

Official servers never wipe.
I dunno why after all these years people are still asking the same thing.
Probably because the event is closer to reality than not.
Funcom provided servers have in more recent months been crashing more and more often. Rollbacks have been reported in greater number as well (this happens when the server crashes and has to reload a previous backup that works, which are created every 5 minutes).
Unmodded servers should not be crashing. In my experience with modded servers, I have only experienced crashes when a mod is out of date and not updated for a current patch, or a bug that can (and has) be fixed by the author. And eveb this is very rare (assuming up to date files of course).
FC will always state they have no plans to wipe a server. Until they do. This is the same stance many server owners take. Usually telling their communities that no wipes will happen, until they need to. FC isn’t going to be different here. If they can delete a server (and half of them were at one point), they sure can wipe them too if they need to.
So far they’ve been pretty decent at repairing some servers. But that’s been needed more and more. So IMO, telling people they will never wipe isn’t a great idea. They have never wiped before, but that doesn’t mean they never will. They will when they determine they have to.
