West Coast or East Coast - migration question

With all the migration between servers, I was wondering…

Are there separate servers on the west coast and the east coast? And if so, how can you tell which ones are which? (In the USA)

Seems to me that if I am on the west coast I’d want to transfer to a west coast server. And vice-versa.

Correct. There is servers on both coasts and central too (I believe - never looked for central). One of the websites out there that shows server stats has that info, you can also track them to their IP address using google
