The offensive vs defensive is in offensive favored
I think the best way fix this is not make off line mode but make auto repair.
So this way make defensive in players favor.
When you die your gear and inventory should still be on you. But take 50% of its total hp. So if run out again and die since all gear be broken so it be in the loot bag.
There is a server setting that the admin of your server can change to spawn with items. It will retain the damage you took before you died so sort of what you’re looking for. Might want to look at server swapping.
No I think u miss the whole point, I know what setting but I feel way game is played feels to big risk.
Think like this one you fight but died on official setting you hope can spawn fast enough to get loot or spend time grabbing extra gear to go back out there to fight.
That is a lot down time either way and on game mechanic wise boring.
That’s most people log off or go naked both which is poor mechanic.
I understand risk and reward but same token should have some chance and getting back in fight.
Sounds terrible. One of the prizes in pvp is getting the kill and taking the kit. Just craft more kits. I’m pretty sure it’s still 8x on official servers.
I agree defense is lacking but at the moment it’s pretty hard in general to defend against unlimited bombs and a lighting storm that takes one npc which acts as a mini nuke.
Dbd on a handful of severs would be a great test to see how people like it and what issues will come from it.
And out game play most people avoid pvp just because of that grabbing gear takes time and I said earlier it’s boring.
You do get thief kit but you have kill them twice and if kits so easy then your statement is wrong.
You looting kit that you all ready own or can easily craft then statement would be pointless.
If steal legendary gear on one side yea but then again took hours to obtain and one fight can easily change that. Then most people rage quit then which is main problem of this game.
So real goal of this game is have fun but what it breeds toxic and no good and it’s loosing battle which funcom should be able to see this.

Fun is the goal of any game really but it’s hard to achieve it. I guess I don’t see why you would want a keep on death setting on official severs it really hinders the excitement of the survival aspect.
If your goal is to promote more pvp then there are better ways to go about it.
I like the fight and possibility that my loot may be taken. This is why PVP is brutal.
When entering PVP you have to go in with a mindset of managing your expectations and emotions. The risk is that you can lose everything, gain it all back, become a king all for your empire to fall again.
Use strategies to quickly gain access to your body again, placing bedrolls or inside FOBs. Be prepared that mistakes will be made and you’re only human.
But no, I don’t think people should keep their gear on death. That is a risk they agreed to.
Then prep for those possibilities. Load out chests in convenient areas with all your PVP gear. Supply chests with repair mats and hammers.
Base or FOB > spawn point > die > load out > re-grab > move forward.
Have someone available for rotating between supply and pickups. Nakeds are great to run in with little risk and easy to slip through fingers to allow for looting the dead body. Dump in container and move on.
