If you’re only in your 40’s are you sure you remember that time? The quality of products in America started dropping in the 70’s with the change to the trade restrictions with china and we started importing metric tons of cheap, low quality products.
When flat screen TVs where first developed they had issues with losing red over time. After about 5 years it was noticeable. At the time most people wouldn’t buy a TV that didn’t last 10 years. Did they solve the issue with red in flat screens? I mean they are every where now right? Not really, the life expectancy of a flat screen is 5 years and people except it.
Working class people have been taught to except cheap items with short life spans. It’s how a consumer driven capitalistic society works.
At one time there was a car company that built a car that could last your life time. No car company can make money selling you one car, or could compete with a company that could. So the big 3 shut down Tucker.
Don’t think a mans self worth is more then a pay check.
