I understand people’s sympathies are on the side of the little guy and not the big evil company, but we also don’t know what the “response” contained. I want to believe that the mod author is honestly trying to resolve the matter, being civil and providing all the information Funcom needs, but all we are seeing is their side in a case that is probably more complicated than we think.
And as I’ve said elsewhere, Funcom may be unable to state their case publicly due to various legal reasons that are binding to companies but not necessarily to private individuals such as the mod author. So we may never see more than this one side’s view into the matter.
(It may also be that Funcom looked at the forum rage caused by the incident, and how some people behaved, and decided that “screw it, those people don’t deserve their toys back”, but I’m hoping they’re better people than that.)
