Wheel of pain T2 is very hard to place, almost impossible

Wheel of pain (tier 2), is very hard to place on clear ground. Without a red marker, pressing left click won’t place it. This doesn’t happen with tier 1 or 3.

Game version 2.4.284326/28736, beta branch game client

Please provide a step-by-step process of how the bug can be reproduced. The more details you provide us with the easier it will be for us to find and fix the bug:

  1. use a tier2 wheel of pain from shortcut bar
  2. try to place it on anything except sand
  3. try to place it on foundations (impossible)
  4. the wheel will eventually place itself after trying this a number of times (between 1-300)
  5. try the same with a tier 1 or 3 wheel of pain, for comparison

For some reason, this doesn’t happen that much on sand.

hmm. I did encounter difficulty placing the mid level wheel of pain but had attributed it to the rugged sloped terrain where i was placing it.

tested this out. with T1-3 wheel s and T1-3 animal pens.

setup: laid out a grid of T1 (flotsam) and T3 (stormglass) foundations.

tried placing T1 wheel:
slightly picky on placement in sand (wouldn’t allow level placement, required adjusting to terrain)
No issues on either foundation.

Tried placing T3 wheel
same as T1

Tried middle T2 wheel…
more often then not, even without reporting errors, fails to place. raise/lower/rotate/align to terrain… nothing worked reliably. eventually while spamming the place button, the wheel placed… but not where I was trying to place it.

all three animal pens (other than still being extremely too large) are a chore to align on ANY terrain. in relatively level ground, I was able to get all three to place by raising them from the default level and aligning to terrain (leaning animal pens of Siptah!) Of any structure, these behemoths should be the most forgiving with terrain issues instead of most restrictive.

Hi,
I have the same problem with the T2 Wheel. It is not placable for me. Not on even ground and not on foundations. The T1 wheel is hard to place, but it works on even ground. The T3 Wheel I could not test yet.

Can only agree, mostly used the small wheel, but yes they’re a pain to place.

Animals pens are just horrible by the size. I mostly use them only in testlive where i play vanilla, otherwise of course i use smaller modded ones. I made the trial on plain terrain, but couldn’t place them.
Even on foundations they remain tricky, and like said, what a hudge waste of space !
