Why are these things not fixed

Why can’t we get the weapons and armor from the humanoid enemies we beat? Isn’t there a rat god? How come thralls don’t have beards,? you think they would. How come the grafix keep getting washed out like water color or something?

Because we can’t.

No.

They shave.

What platform are you on?
If you’re on PC, this sounds like an issue with your graphics card.

Because we can’t isn’t a logical answer.

It doesn’t make sense that all the randoms all shave all the time. That doesn’t make any sense. There is no purpose in shaving in most cases. That is to say without social dynamics. If you’re out in the wild there’s no real purpose because the same beer that can keep you warm is the same beer that can keep you cool. You just keep it clean and you’re good.

Okay I guess it is what it is. Don’t know what the real point of this game is the only thing I found out is to run around and do stuff and figure out how to take the bracelet off only to end the game which I don’t know what the real story is besides that. There’s a bunch of side things which I’m from Lakewood but I don’t mean anything I’m looking for a meaty decent story. I guess there ain’t one. But thanks though it’s nice to have good confirmation

We do. Its just random.

Short answer, no. Long answer, take a gander at the original books (they are public domain here:

https://freeread.com.au/@RGLibrary/RobertEHoward/REH-Conan/@Conan.html

NPCs use a very simple set of customizations in a datatable. Beards won’t be part of that until some other systems are fixed with beards most likely.

You can try turning off Post Processing.

Take a look at this list of gods and other entities worshiped in the hyborian age. None of them are “rat gods”.

Weeeeeelllllll…

Rats in the Cthulhu Mythos have a connection to Nyarlathotep, so in a sense the game already has a rat god

Canon for Conan Exiles is not just my favourite author’s incredible writings, it’s also the movies and the comics. Where a Rat God does exist. At least in the minds of some fanatical cultists. Ok, clearly not Ishtar or Mitra or Set, but it is in Savage Sword of Conan and could therefore be considered along with a slew of other content. Do I think it should be in the game? There are plenty of others I’d like to see first but I would not just dismiss it totally. It would be better than having abominations like Fiend armour in the game.

This is incorrect. The comics and movies are not canon. The comics legally cannot be due to copyright and licensing issues, and the movies heavily deviate from the source material.

Thanks Jimbo, which REH story featured a wheel of pain?

None of them. I think you’re mixing up an homage with canonicity if that’s your argument however. A reference or easter egg that doesn’t affect the lore isn’t the same as recognizing full on events that do not and cannot happen as canon.

And I think you’re taking way too narrow a view on the word “canon.” I even qualified the way I was referring to it by adding “…for Conan Exiles.” Not “…for REH’s Hyborian Age.” All I mean by it in this instance is that Funcom used mainly the REH books, but also the a bit of the movies and comics as authoritative source material for the game. Some more authoritative than others. But there’s plenty in the game that REH never would have thought of or sadly did not get a chance to think of. Is the Rat God 100% REH Canon? Of course not. Is it in source material that was considered by the devs when fleshing out the world of Conan Exiles? Yes.

I think you’re misrepresenting what canon means.

These are the same thing.

No, they did not. A handful of visual easter eggs and tropes does not in any capacity represent an “authoritative source”.

Yes, and that comes from authors he personally collaborated with to share ideas, and later contributers working under the approval of the conan IP holder; which is now Funcom by the way. They have deemed the movies and comics as not canon. I personally asked and got an answer.

Absolutely not. You cited a non-canon comic, which means it is not considered.

Have a great day Jimbo, loosen up a bit mate.

No. I’ve spent years studying the lore, collecting what is and isn’t canon. The movies where conan fights an anachronistic thurian-age villain goes against the canon, just as much as the cartoon where he says stealing is wrong; which also has a reference in the game.

Easter eggs do not denote canonicity.

People in this day an age seem to have such a hatred, or at the very least a disdain for canon and I do not understand it. I have seen this in so many things (Star Trek, Marvel and all sorts of others) and the modern fan base is of the opinion that “Canon = bad”.

Sorry but no. Without canon you have nothing.
