Well, yes, but games have been unfairly targeted for such mods before, like the above mentioned GTA and Oblivion. Outrage groups and politicians generally don’t pay much attention to the technical details.
Freaken stupid question! Why, why do you feel the need to have full nudity??? Something is seriously wrong if you strongly feel a NEED for full nudity in a game!
This is your argument? You’re going to come into a Video Game forum to question someone on Need?
What do you need with video games? Or a computer? You just need food and water and a place to sleep. Just eat and sleep in a little corner for your entire life. Everything else is stupid. You don’t need it.
FFS guy, we’re human beings. We don’t operate on need. We split the atom, we broke the sound barrier, we walked on the moon, we developed hundreds of different cultures rich with music, foods, art, and thousands of different forms of entertainment, in the future we may walk on other planets maybe just maybe even visit other stars. Why? Because we want to. We don’t need to explain it. We do things because we want to. We make things because we want to.
So if someone wants the simple pleasures of enjoying the full work of a video game. Even if its just asking. They have a God given right to do so. It hurts no one for them to ask to enjoy something they want.
Maybe not wrong in your points, but let’s not connect splitting the atom, walking on the moon, breaking the sound barrier, or literally any useful activity with the desire to see more skin on my Conan character.
(although most of those examples had reasons that were well thought out and articulated, so not really “we just want to” situations)
Yes, the ESRB ratings drive company decisions. You would have to be naive to believe otherwise.
No more so than Walmart telling one of their suppliers “Look, if you want us to carry your soft drink, you can’t keep giving us flavors like chicken liver and cat food. It’s just not gonna sell.”
Or are you wanting them to change the label on the cat food soda so it says root beer?
Lol, what? Try not to overthink everything, your hair is smoldering. . .

I normally would agree with you. But let’s be honest, there is far more questioned here than a simple Conan character. But for the sake of argument, we can keep it more focused.
This is how this is going to be broken down here:
First thing, who is preventing nudity on consoles, and why? Everyone could argue that Funcom has some say in this. They do, but how much? Do they have enough pull to convince Microsoft and Sony? CD Project Red apparently did, somewhat. But while consoles are lining up to try and get Cyberpunk 2077 on their platforms. They aren’t doing the same for Conan Exiles. So Funcom has to play ball to sell their product on those platforms.
So why does Sony and Microsoft do this? We can only speculate. But we can say this. Its not because of US government. As I cited earlier, the Supreme Court has declared video games as protected speech. The US Government, All State and Territory Governments, and all Local Governments are prohibited in making any laws against video games’ content.
The ESRB does NOT ban video games. It is NOT a government agency. It is a private group and merely has an opinion on how games should be rated. Companies pay them to rate their games. In some cases they have to in order to sell on platforms like the Xbox and Playstation. Funcom didn’t have to do this for Steam and didn’t. It is unrated on that platform.
In this regard, ESRB isn’t much different than your favorite Discord groups. The biggest difference obviously is they are bigger and retailers put weight into their opinions over yours. They are not compelled to do so outside of market forces. But they have chosen to do so.
Ironically the people who purchase video games in this case are being overridden by the voices of those who don’t. The reason to why this is, is well look at this thread. They are ignorant and keep purchasing video games from said retailers. When a retailer self-censors, and sees video game sales rise, then logically they must be doing the right thing.
If video game sales fell due to self-censorship, then they would stop doing it. The solution is clear. Stop buying games from those who self-censor products on their platform. You don’t have to go to PC (well for Conan you do, but not in general), as Nintendo has taken a stance of not censoring 3rd party games. Oddly enough they were big on censoring decades ago. So dump the playstation/xbox and get a switch. Or a pc. Or keep supporting this.
Now to address the other argument that has come up. Why does someone ‘need’ nudity in a game. As I said, we are human beings and we have God given rights to enjoy music, art, books, foods, movies, video games and various other forms of entertainment that we wish to enjoy.
We don’t simply sit in a 10’x10’ square eating and sleeping for a miserable boring life. Our lives have more meaning than that. What someone enjoys is unique to them. There is no reason to have to justify that. I’ve been told I have too big of a house, too many properties, too many cars, too many firearms, too many TV’s, that having both cable and satellite TV is ridiculous, or whatever. And in every case, those statements are disingenuous and borderline envy at that point.
Now what is my personal opinion? Is making threads on the subject weird? Sure, I think the OP is weird. Someone wants to look at pixel boobs is a little weird. Not uncommon. But a little weird. But that is only a personal opinion I have, an opinion that is irrelevant which is why I have not used it as an argument. And even then human beings are weird. We’re all weird in some way. Its harmless. Someone wanting to see a fantasy play out in a video game is not dangerous. Its not harmful. And most importantly not wrong. God forbid someone wants to have fun in a video game.
Let them have their fun. If this is something that makes them happy and hurts no one. Why not let them enjoy it? People ought to be able to enjoy things. Even the weird things.
MALAKA!!!
Sorry Stelagel, this is the only word I 've learned by playing AC Odyssey and I felt the urge to use it
Hugs from Italy!
Is it just me who find it hilarious that this is one of the most active threads right now?

Why do you feel the need to judge and control others moral values? By doing so you condemn yourself. Judge not yet ye be judged!
Consoles have parental controls as does the game. So use them and stop judging others and violating their freedom of choice. People like didn’t fight for the freedoms so many enjoy to have some prude want them taken away. Remember without nudity and se x you wouldn’t exist IRL to complain. Next you’ll complain about se x ed in schools.
Always has been a hot topic since Funcom soldout the console community to religious fanatics. They sold a product promising one thing yet gave another. It’s called false advertising and representation. A class action lawsuit could be filed against all parties involved in the blocking of the DLC in the United States since it violates player’s rights.
Meh. It’s a nice change of pace from the usual bug and balance discussions.
Closest you get on most other game forums is once a year someone talking about bikini armor being “unrealistic”. If you ask me, the painted on or surgically attached underwear would be more of a problem, but this is pretty much the only place that addresses that issue.
I’d like to see you collect all the evidence for this case
Blames the lack of pixel bewbs in his survival game on religious fanatics right after misquoting a passage from a well-known religious text to defend his right to have pixel bewbs in his survival game. Unsupported ethical claim included.
Conan Exiles Forums, folks. Bask in the glory.
Because we are console scrubs you gots to be pc master rice to get that content how could you not know that come on man🤦♂️
Short answer: It’s deemed more trouble than it’s worth.
Oh really? Explain in detail how Funcom is supposed to sell Conan Exiles on Playstation and Xbox with full nudity settings turned on. Break it down for us.
It literally works like this:
Funcom: We have this game we’d like to sell on console.
Sony/MS: Cover up the naughty bits
FC: But its Conan
S/MS: No
So they either cover it up, or they can’t sell Conan on console.
But I think you knew this. You’re just virtual signaling that you hating on a business. That’s all this is.
Seems like a minor issue, really. No big deal.
If you want to look at bare skin instead of driving a sword through it, why not just ask your wife to dance around naked whilst you play the game? A live show is better than a virtual one, after all.
Funcom shouldn’t even bother treading into the minefield of US clown show laws and politics, especially not now. Not nearly worth it for something that’s essentially just a minor visual detail with zero effect on gameplay.
