Why I HATE Siptah

Yeah. I thought Siptah was gorgeous when it first came out but so many people complained that it was either too bright or too dark. So they made a bunch of changes and, in my opinion, wrecked it. The maelstrom used to be so erie and cool and now it’s meh.

Lighting has always been an issue since launch of Siptah. It’s like they cranked the settings,

Actually no! I do remember falling in love with the night sky of Siptah playing my first days! I even remember being happy with their job because the sky was an island sky as it should be! I say this because I grow up and still live in a Greek island! My lighting problems exist with my choice on turning off quality and choose performance! When I made this choice exile lands was OK but Siptah really dark at nights! Now, after the update exile lands are dark too, pitch dark actually, but it is still because I play performance!
Another thing that makes the nights darker are the clouds and this was always this way, always! Siptah and exile lands have become more cloudy at nights , this I believe effects more complains and personally I don’t like the frequency. OK we love to slay and drag unconscious bodies, but sometimes we enjoy sunsets and full moons too. Another great reason I enjoy official servers is that we have nights, almost all the private servers eliminate the nights .
@Xevyr in exile lands, on performance mode you can see very clear on the lower cave in the silver mine, performance mode eliminates the fog and it’s crystal clear down there without light support.

The moon actually used to be brighter and didn’t have that weird shape in front of it.

I do remember the same, it was brighter on full moons at nights. I remember just taking the shot and sending it to her with the comment that I love nights in Siptah! I was very exited with the job and the green of the landscape! Ofcurce by luck I choose to spawn northwest and even the violet isle was not occupied, so the landscapes were magnificent.

I thoroughly enjoyed siptah especially after years of exiled lands. From a pvp perspective they made farming a lot easier and did a decent job of promoting actual player vs player interactions. Definitely not as much content as exiled lands though.
