The thing is you know when Black Friday is well in advance. Not to mention that we all spend a bit more around year end due to the Christmas/New Year celebrations. You can put aside some money in Jan and spend it in Nov. If you leave everything for the last minute you can’t blame anyone but yourself. Some financial planning is required.
Regarding the salary discussion every country has its own specifics. E.g in mine construction workers with negotiated wage per m2 painted wall were paid weekly. A nanny would be paid per hour but the majority who are on fixed employment will be paid per month. Where I live right now, you negotiate on the yearly salary not monthly but you are paid 1/12th of the yearly monthly. Here I pay all my bills on around 15th of the month and I usually get paid on 24-25th. The agreement in my contract though is by last day of the month so on some rare occasions I get paid on 28-29th. I also know that I am going to have to pay taxes early next year so funding the entire bill from that one month’s salary is a recipe for disaster.
