Will there be any compensation for Siptah players for the losses involved in the May update

I’ve played on a Siptah server for years building a large complex base with over 20 major buildings.

That’s tens of thousands of materials, impossible to carry on two thralls and a camel.

Hundreds of hours of work was involved.. Are we supposed to just eat that loss and try to rebuild what we had from scratch? Not to mention the leveled thralls we will lose?

This seems thoughtlessly punitive to loyal players. Surely something better can be devised, either unlimited inventory or a “credit account” that at least tots up the mats lost and makes them available for use.

And are the transfers random?

Will clanmates have a way of finding each other easily?

Will they be able to transfer their characters to whatever server the clan leader landed on?

If clan members are randomly sent to different servers, it will destroy clan cohesiveness and make rebuilding as before impossible. All while Exiles clans are untouched. On PVP servers that means clan destruction. And if too many Siptah players are sent to the same Exiles servers, overcrowding will result and many will be unable to claim their former lands.

Overall this seems very poorly thought out and likely to result in the loss of a huge number of players who will rightfully feel crapped on by Funcom and ultimately counterproductive.

I can’t understand why they landed on a design choice that means the destruction of progress for everyone who has invested in Siptah. That should be non-negotiable. I’ve been running a private server for years and have built castles, villages, bridges, fortresses, dungeons, towers, and more on Siptah without a decay timer—essentially years of accumulated world-building. This is devastating news.

The way the latest round of transfers work is that it transfers all of your thralls, mounts and pets along with you. Once you transfer and have built a small base and therefore have a landclaim you can summon each thrall one at a time from the thrall management window.

The catch is that when you’re in a clan all the thralls belong to the clan, not to you specifically. You have to work around that with the thrall selling cages. Be aware this is likely impossible if you’re the last active member of a clan. You will need someone to help as the thralls are all deleted if you, as the last active member to log in for more than a week, leave the clan.

Basically someone not in the clan buys the thralls to remove them from the clan. Then that person can transfer with said thralls or sell them to someone else who cannot be in a clan at that point either.

Funcom’s plan is for transfers to be active going forward so if people are auto transferred to different servers they can then transfer wherever they like.

I would guess you’re out of luck on materials.

As I understand it, the idea is that you can also dismantle your base (presumably load the materials into follower inventories) and then transfer them across as well, though I’m not sure how that would actually work in practical terms.

Get thralls, carry bases, rebuild!

Hello @Raeil Only person in my clan. Do I just leave clan and all 64 followers stay mine? How do followers come with me? Wouldn’t they get deleted?

That is mostly correct, though I don’t know the non-clan limit for one person, but I thought it was pretty much the same for a 1 person clan.

This I don’t know. In the past I’ve been able to build a base, create a clan with just me, then leave the clan and the buildings remained and were still mine. But I’ve never tried it with thralls. Would be worth testing it on a throwaway character with throwaway thralls to see what happens.

how are the followers that are placed in the world coming with us to a new server?

It’s done automatically by the system. All the thralls, pets and mounts you own that are placed in the world will come with you and will be in the follower management window once the transfer is done.

You just can’t be in a clan, as I understand it.

I see other folks have addressed this, but I just want to add my testing results.

When server transfers where active, I thought it would only be my active thralls who would transfer. It is actually all of your thralls. So you fill all of them up with mats, then spawn into a new sever, put down a few foundation, then, through the follower menu, spawn each one of your followers and use their mats.

It’s not a perfect system, but you should be able to bring a great deal of matts from Siptah bases uses all of your followers.

I’m pretty sure if I leave the clan, everything will come with me. Glad to hear about the followers. I have some Undead Monstrosity’s that I leveled up. I’m glad I can keep all of my pre nerfed weapons. I was saving some other thralls from the Witch Doctor feat that will expire if I take them out of the fridge. I’ll put them out as followers. I should be fine.

If this true this will be great news if confirmed. I’d like to port over with my favorite stuff. Was this done with the most recent transfers or from years ago?

For the of science I tested on a new server. With only me having ever been in the clan I keep all buildings and thralls even when leaving the clan. Tried it multiple times. The pop up warning box even tells me that I will retain ownership of all buildings and thralls.

I’d say as long as that’s the message you get then it should be fine. Obviously I can’t make any promises.

Edit to add screenshot.

@Voc41 If I recall a solo player has limit of 50, whereas solo person in a clan has 65 then +15 for each member, but again, you have leave the clan last to keep ownership everything.

Seems to me your compensation is a free game upgrade to UE5.

and no problem with only players of siptah in this situation ? why not same situation for everyone ?

lets force all conan map players to force transfer to see reaction

there was other choices for deployement of ue 5 that would have been fair for everyone.

You get a bag of eldarium, the big one (3 pieces of eldarium ore really)

not sure where you have been. since when does Funcom care about IoS players? They never have. This shouldn’t be surprising to you.

yeah I’ll be fine. If I have to drop down to 50, no biggie. Thanks for the info.
