Sigh. I just built a new installation of Windows 7 (again). At just the point that it has enough patches to be functional (but nowhere near all the “important updates” it wants to throw at me) - recognizing the existence of M.2 drives, recognizing my Logitech mouse and keyboard, finally letting me install graphics drivers without throwing endless error msgs - ClientPatcher.exe freezes while attempting to create a fresh installation of SWL. I started the installation last night, but it wouldn’t get past making the game folder - ClientPatcher aborted because the system didn’t have graphics drivers that could support the game. Now the drivers are in, but the ClientPatcher process has sat inert for over half an hour since restarting it. Digging into event logs, I see fatal alert 40 and 70 at around the time I started the process.
