We disagree…

We have actual case law and precedent about this stuff. No need to be so absurd.

A software license is a mutable thing, never intended to be used as a weapon. When I review a PowerPoint created from Word assets that use a paid filter to present the data, I’m not using a copy of the filter’s license, I’m using a by-product of the license. Therefore I’m free to disseminate it at will. The data, that is, in all its filtery splendor.

Identically, DLC is a skin of the master building piece, and is thus a by-product for free dissemination. This is why the Building Hammer is essential. It is a software block, a patch, if you will, to stop the dissemination of a by-product I rightfully am licensed to disseminate. This is terribly close to tortious behavior, because it changes the Agreement (after the fact) in a way that potentially violates it in its entirety.

ETA: Also, the only thing Mikey ever stole is all of our hearts. Don’t ever forget that, my man.

Wow, what a way to invert reality… Too strange for me pal…

Yeah, the Black Hand is where I always get my dishes.
I played all night last night and my friend and I share the spoils, especially if one gets encumbered, so the other will take items to even out the weight. We didn’t have problems trading anything, especially now that it’s all visible.

How do you pick up a placeable item back to your inventory? Because when I try to do this, the item gets dismantled.

Some items definitely return, I think basically anything crafted on the Artisan bench (or other workstations) will return as an item instead of raw materials.

Yeah, it’s bugged. As of now, there seems to be no way to put things in your inventory.
The move option is terrible as well. You can only go a few feet before it says you’re too far from the object and puts it back. So, you have to pick up, walk a few steps, put down. Pick up, walk a few steps, put down, etc.
There’s a lot needing fixen’.

I am still getting loads of candles. From either chests or npcs, have not noticed as i use them for ichor.

I have never tried to place one! :frowning: Now i am sad

The above u said it is a bug and probably will be fixed with the next patch.

Weren’t most decorative items made in the Artisan Table?

Will be dismantled and if i am not wrong u will only receive a “part” of the construction cost.

It seems to be random. I’ve also come back the next day and items placed in storage were turned into mat packs. It’s extremely frustrating.

Not in my experience. I know I’ve done it with the Aquilonian brazier (to pick a DLC item). Definitely returned as an item.

I still do find them in lots of chests. I don’t know who is experiencing something wrong here between us? The only ones I take is banners and tents, candles and plates are no good for ps4 render about a year now, so I don’t pick them up anymore.
Later on I will send a photo to verify my words, but I still find these things in chests, I am not sure for npcs, I didn’t pay attention to this, I will let you know the soonest possible!
Edit.

Don’t you dare leave that in a chest, you could be facilitating software theft. :stuck_out_tongue: :ducks and runs:

How dare you!

looks on in horror

Realistically, it should have been expected that anything on the Ancestral Knowledge tab was going to get blocked like this somehow. I’ve never seen one instance of DLC advertised of “share with your friends”.

Anyone suggesting otherwise is simply trolling at this point, I think.

It might break RP, but this isn’t an RP game, never was.
I can see them doing a gift feature where you can buy and gift stuff to other players, but that becomes more of a challenge because we don’t have an account structure in the way ESO does, which uses said feature.

Although I guess it could, if you use someone’s user name or whatever they log in with. I dunno all the logistics of that.

I agree with every word @TeleTesselator said in this thread.
If you share DLC items with other players that god forbid don’t own the dlc you are a pirate and should be permanently banned from even booting this glorious game only any platform.

We don’t need pirates and freeloaders in this community.

But this issue brings even bigger issue.
What if some freeloader loots a bazaar or dlc item from a bedy of someone who owns said dlcs or bazaar items?
Imho the game should run background checks every time you pick up items and if you don’t own it you should get an automated ban until you buy the dlc or bazaar items pack you tried to steal from another player.

Off the subject a bit, but, how is this not a RP game?? There’s even role playing servers. I roleplay sometimes. I’d say, action, roleplay, building, and survival game. Survival being the forefront.

I dunno. To me, RPG games have been diluted heavily in modern gaming.

Any game with leveling + stats is slapped with RPG. And I don’t think it’s accurate at all.

Conan Exiles gets that with the Action RPG genre.

But I mean, there are few NPCs you actually talk to. There are no side quests. The main quest might as well not exist, since most ignore it or partially complete it at most. Because completion means you lose your character.

If you had to rank things: Survival > Builder Sim > Action RPG

But really, any game with an in-game chat can have people who roleplay in it.

It’s not really a PvP game either, PvP is just an option.

I’m sure they made RP servers for those people who don’t want to deal with griefers and trolls, which is what most online gaming is. Especially when you don’t have active mods to step in and deal with them harshly.

Same reason there are PvP and PvE-C ones, to separate out the various groups. Otherwise few would play on official at all.

Honestly i like being able to gift item to friend whos,
A: too poor to afford Said DLC
B: doesnt have alot of time to spend doing BP
C: im a crappy builder but they are good in building so i pay for the material they build me a house
D: its the same thing as owning item in a Real life and then trading it to someone …

To trade DLC when you craft it or loot it … is not piracy … it called sharing … Now its consider bad taste if you were to profit from sharing it with friends … but if it sharing it because its just more fun to do so together.

But i will say this in bout 3 month this will get worse and worse and worse … I already feel bad to those people that couldnt get their hand on Preorder DLC or the witcher set in time since it was limited Twitch event. I am a believer that Artist should get paid, but at the same time shouldnt cost a community points that you cant have it because you had a life outside of conan .
