I think we should have some hippos in the game. Just use the animation and skeleton of a rhino.

I’ve always thought they needed to make the water more dangerous. Crocagators that can swim and hippos would do it.

this has bewildered me as well (the underwater enemy thing, not the hippo thing, although hippos would be cool and are quite dangerous , i believe they kill more people a year than any other animal in the world) But dont we have an “attack animation” underwater? cause we can mine underwater right? I mean just give us a shark or something.

Maybe sharks on the east coast, but noob river I assume is fresh or maybe brackish so
Alligator gar can get up to 4 feet will hunt in groups.

Well if noob river is deep enough, and if it leads out to the sea, which it seems to do, then a stray Bull Shark would not be too unlikely as they can, and do, swim into fresh water rivers even beyond the point where they are no longer considered brackish water. And they are pretty much the most aggressive species of shark, especially given their size.

You can also fight underwater. Having a 1 handed weapon on you at all times on PVP is often suggested in case of an encounter with other players in water.

If I remember right, there’s a fishing trophy decoration of a giant gar. So definitely makes sense for them to be in the water & a threat

Sharks live in the sea, so it makes sense to release them into the ocean on the east coast. But there is no particular point in going on a long voyage there, except for the Sunken City dungeon.
Sharks are implemented in one of the underwater dungeons of the Age of Calamitous mod, and they bite if you do not avoid meeting them. A beginner can easily say goodbye to his life with one bite.
They also have vampire bats that attack from above and can only be killed with a bow.
All this could easily be implemented by Funcom.

But then again, there is also already a shark in the game.
Which you can make from the Dogfish (caught in the Improved Fish Trap [even in fresh water for some reason])
They are not exactly a threat, but given that their form exist they could be sized up for a larger species.

There are hippos on the Sapphire Exiles map. Also available in the LCDA beastiary mod for other maps.

Deadliest animal in the world is the mosquito. However, hippos are extremely dangerous. Tbh I thought the reptilian monstrosity was the hippo substitute for Conan Exiles, given it’s size and proximity to water

That’s the one. I forgot it was from the exotic fish - shows you how much I use the fish traps. 
I think it more than plausible that a Hyperborean Age version of a gar could & would attack people.
Dogfish are a shark species, so it makes sense that if we can catch dogfish, their larger cousins should be in the waters, too.
Both would be a good add to the game, in addition to letting the crocs swim, & give the water a needed sense of danger.
Hippos are significantly more dangerous than Sharks.
Hippos slaughter humans for fun.
Sharks very rarely bite a human they mistake for a seal or catch a finger when they are already busy chowing down.
Dolphins are more dangerous, and on a significantly more disturbing level, than sharks are, to a human.
At worst, shark will kill and eat you.
A Dolphin, on the other hand, may like humans.
Really like humans.
In that getting to know you sort of way.
Not all dolphins, of course.
But they do hold a very rare distinction, along with Emus, as being one of the very few species to assault humans in that way.

I would appreciate a little more “life” in the waterways.
and if they’re going to redo it, it would like more “logical” fishing - catching sharks in a 10x10 meter pond or even in a well…is quite ridiculous

accurate.
Sharks are demonized because they “look scary”, but you are vastly more likely to be bitten by, and even fatally so, by a dog than you are by a shark.

Humans.
I am ok with having hippos, yet i am ok not having them also.
I would show greater interest on more fantastic creatures than reality creatures.
