There are no “tribe specific 8%/6%/4% bonuses” maybe you were thinking about the amount of damage bonus they gain per point of Strength, which is explained in the guide above.

Ty for the clarification. I was watching a YT video that was very poorly explained and I think I miss interpreted what they were saying. They were implying there were additional hidden bonuses but I think they were actually just talking about the STR / AGI modifiers… I appreciate you confirming there isn’t additional modifiers per tribe.

@Xevyr , out of curiosity, is it possible to build a mod that shows the hidden multipliers once we check the info of a thrall in game?

Is there any that does it?

Not aware of any, but there might be
who knows.

Did you ever consider making something like that? I’m sure it would be appreciated, no?
Something that would calculate the hidden modifiers directly into the “STR damage bonus” and “AGI damage bonus” on the stat screen would be very helpful.

Idk, that might confuse people who are used to the vanilla things, like “why does a thrall with 10 str have a crap ton of damage bonus instead of 4% or so”
etc.
I think that even if it were to convert it, it should show them as a separate value just to avoid confusion.

My greatest difficulty to calculate is that i cannot see numbers of damage outcome when a thrall is using a weapon. Of course having an rng pool of what hits plus how much it miss makes things even worst.
So overall console players use to calculate with the worst way of all…
Follow me and if you manage to stay out of trouble and alive until 20 then you are a good Thrall
.
Hopefully a player that plays over a month in a server already has many good weapons to make even the worst effective. But the difficulty for the new players i believe is high now, without meaning that it shouldn’t. The survival aspect of the game is easier now, yet the complexity of the game can be frustrating if the survival aspect was bigger.
Too many materials, too many gear, too many secrets. If we add dlcs, bazzar, battle pass and twitch… Omg.
It’s good that vanilla remains always higher.
I believe the best bet for someone will always be his own toon, his own use of weapons and attributes. It’s really good that after sorcery update our toons are do damn strong and effective.
I also believe that people who train thralls should avoid some conflicts like arena champion, Thag, rockslide and Rotbranch. If you loose a bit the control of the fight you can loose hours of effort just like that and for absolutely no reason. Bottom line, there’s no honor killing these opponents with thralls, you can kill them all alone and get the satisfaction you seek.
Even if someone fails, no problem, summon back your body and problem solved.
Thralls are followers, numbers to calculate as personal Community and effort of civilization on rough lands. They are no heroes anymore and they should stay this way. If npcs weren’t hitting so hard now, nobody would complain.

If funcom ditches permanent stunlock, thralls will manage.
It’s better to prepare to lose some to high level purges. I did a level 10 with the camp spawning very close to my base and it was a carnage, even if I never died. I didn’t lose my follower because I was paying attention, but a lot goes wrong when so many moving parts are present. They didn’t get a dime though! Got Lianeele from a cage. That alone made my day.

It works both ways, though. I’m now playing War Party, with one thrall with daggers, and another with a Momentum mace, and they’re brutalizing anything they come across that can be staggered. Dagger-wielder keeps plinking at the enemy and keeps it staggered, and the mace-wielder does the heavy damage.
Most of the time, if the player and thrall(s) get heavily outnumbered and stunlocked, that was a player mistake.

Stunlock and hyperarmor are two things I don’t understand in this game. I can’t see what each tries to simulate / emulate. And I can’t see what advantages / improvements each gives to the combat system. From what I’ve seen both just make it more dumber and more subject to rng.

Not in high level purges. You’ll have your thralls surrounded in a snap. Have you tried a lvl 10? It’s insane. They keep coming and they will outnumber you no matter what. It was fun though, but you either lose thralls or treasure.

Not necessarily, where to accept purge and how to build still remains on players choice and responsibility.
I buy banners and put on the front line zombies or golems. My thralls are all behind, i do not allow them to engage. I have a big square before the treasury and they all wait there. I did it this way to protect them from official bad performance, a simple “connection lost” can end up tragic and until you log in thralls and buildings can be lost.
So the way it is, npcs have narrow passage, they cannot come in masses, and my thralls will outnumber them no matter what. Simple doorframes without doors can create collision in the npc walk through, it gives huge advantage to thralls and cauldrons.
But if you wish war and casualties, be my guest…

In this challenge i lost about 200 thralls and pets lol.
They all die to serve a cause, my gaming pleasure

I wasn’t super careful or strategic about it. I wanted to test a lvl 10 purge against the usual thralls inside a simple U shaped kill box. Placed a few archers and a good number of zerkers in decent armor, leg weapons, but nothing fancy. I mainly wanted to see what happened.
It’s indeed overwhelming. We have to use much more strategical building to do a purge with as little casualties as possible. I don’t do zombies or golems, @stelagel .
Anyway, I was quite happy about the overall experience. The camp spawned a little too close for my taste and I had to place the teeasure coffer in the open for the purge to spawn, but once it did, it was a blast.
My only gripe is that they should try to level our base, as purges used to do. Otherwise it’s all too predictable.

You should! We gather all these freaking crystalline parts, why not use them
.
Zombies are freaking horrible in looks, they are dead meat, let them do something useful at least. Go in a camp and throw a few purple orbs, before you know it you have a bunch of zombies front line.
8 zombies and four golems from several pieces combinations can hold the first 15 minutes of your purge.
Then behind them banners will hold the next 10 with a small effort of yours, what remains is 5 minutes for you and your thralls, no actual casualties and rewards of really decent and rare thralls.
It’s not easy, yet no hard, but it’s fun nonetheless.

Maybe I’ll try it @stelagel . Usually I simply ignore zombies and golems. I like to have a proper army!
But it’s getting expensive, so I might as well give some use to the parts I collect and start burying the ugly thralls I capture!

Nope. If I tried a level 10 Purge with my current defenses, I’d be ruined. Triggering a level 10 Purge would be a “player mistake”, in my case.
I had to take a several months’ forced break from the game because “break” is what I did to my wrist, so I’m only slowly getting into this whole Purge thing, collecting treasures etc. So far I’ve got up to only level 3, which I can handle without breaking a sweat with two thralls. But I’ve seen videos about level 10s, and those look like a handful.

You can bet things will turn lively once you reach danger level 8 and above.
One word of advice, if I’m allowed. Make a test on single player so you see what you’ll be up against before you try it online, @Kapoteeni .
