Couldn’t have said it better myself.
It’s indeed a consequence from the lifetime sub, yes, but I meant it’s not about lifetime subs being special, it’s the fact that you can’t avoid paying for vacuum. I’m not annoyed because a sense of entitlement or status, I would just like the option to buy things for the same price as everyone else, in this case the cosmetics. How is this unreasonable in your mind?
Support their other game you mean.
Also donations are cool, but they should be voluntary by defintion. As it stands, you are forced to “donate” IF you want to get the items as a lifetime sub.
And lastly, just because something is status quo does not mean it’s not worth discussing which is the stand you seem to have taken throughout this whole thread.
Wake up.
I’m not sure it counts as donating if you’re receiving exclusive goods in return, that’s just trading isn’t it?
Tbh, this argument just reminds me of the Zenith Core in TSW.
I was referring to his use of the word “support”, and in a way you could consider the part of the bundle that disappears into the void (because you can’t claim the $80 worth of membership if you’re a lifetimer) a “donation”, because you’re paying money for… nothing. At least the part that makes up the 12 month membership. $80 donation and $20 payment.
I don’t see how that’s related to this matter - the fact that I made a stupid statement in the past - it’s not indicative of anything except that I was an idiot at the time. On the other hand, I suppose it was easier to “support” (donate) back in 2015 when things were still awesome, but that’s an entirely different discussion…
So a situation with grandmasters wanting to be able to buy limited edition cosmetics for a cheaper price because the gameplay elements of the bundle aren’t relevant/useable to them doesn’t strike you as similar? It’s not identical, I agree, because there were GMs asking for the zenith core for free, but there aren’t with this (or if there are people asking for it for free, I haven’t seen them).
I agreed with your statement back in 2015, and I still agree with it. I don’t have any problem with FC offering limited edition cosmetics as a perk of buying a bundle. I don’t have any problem with FC offering a different colour variant down the line, I’d probably buy that. I think it’d be understandable to leave a significant gap between the original and recolour though, because part of the appeal of the bundle is the exclusivity attached - it’s something that not everyone has, and that’s something that many people like.
Thank you for the information in your post! Very helpful!
