Demoplay / Demorec is a tool that every unreal engin has but needs to be activaded by the devs.
the function is for making cinematic videos ore just capture somthing in solo ore on a server

i would love it if it was for single player cause i would make some machinimas.

You can use other tools for that too.

GeForce Experience or OBS are good for recording video.
