Argossean Vaulted Ceiling Corner bug

Hello- I’m a new player but I regret to say that the Argossean Vaulted Ceiling Corner tile has a bug on the Xbox… or maybe it’s just mine, I don’t know… but when I affix it in place and try to walk under it there’s an invisible “wall” that stops the character from continuing their journey. It’s only on that one tile that I can see. I’ve built large creations with this DLC and I love it but I can’t finish my current one with this glitch. I tried using the bug reporting form but I’ll be honest it confused me. Has anyone else experience this? Can anyone else help?

Mayhaps ya just too tall? Make your character shorter and try lol

Remove the problematic piece, then continue your build as per normal (I find using a boring AF reg ceiling piece and then overwriting it with your desired vaulted ceiling piece works, just place the vaulted piece last)

Thank you for that- I tried it but unfortunately the problem persists… How do I find out my server number on the xbox? I’ll try the official bug reporting form again

:face_with_tears_of_joy:

If only!

How do you join the server if you don’t know the number?

On the xbox it’s just automatic

I found my server- #1043755/42715

Your bug report didn’t post properly and that isn’t your fault. Here’s info on how to post it so that the template actually posts too. Also, here’s a post I created on advice about how to make an impacting report.

If you go to the menu while in game the server number should show unless you’re playing in SP/CO-OP.

The number you quoted is the version number of the game.

Thank you… I appreciate the help.

However, I’m going to give up. I can’t find the server number anywhere. In game or in menu. The "Help facility in the game doesn’t work, and the bug persists. So I’m just going to give up and accept that the build will not be as I want it to be. I mostly play SP because I enjoy the building more than getting my ass handed to me by veteran players who know the game infinately better than I do in PVP.
So Thank you everyone- especially you kikigirl- but the fact that the bug report I tried to write didn’t work probably was my fault… besides, I couldn’t provide the information it needed.
I’ll get back to building my city now…

Hey there, if you are experiencing this in your singleplayer game, there would not be a server number. Just wanted to clarify that as it may have been confusing as I wrote above.

The bug template not working is not your fault at all. The big blue button that generates the report after you fill everything in is broken and has been since 2022. Some of us have been fighting since then to get it fixed or removed.

Since I have this DLC I’ll see if I can run some tests myself to replicate what you mean and write a report for you

Ok… when you are attempting to travel through these vaulted ceiling corner building pieces do you notice they change orientation? Is this what you mean by an invisible wall?

Because after placed they are changing orientation and the only interaction is simply approaching.

Yes!

So, when I place a vaulted ceiling corner tile (Like in a tunnel) it doesn’t change orientation- it appears exactly as it should but when you try and pass under it it’s as though you’ve put it in wrongly and it stops you from passing under it,

Any suggestions?

Unfortunately without tinkering with the piece many many times I can’t get it to stick myself.

Here’s the bug report as promised:

A couple of thoughts - you’ve probably already considered/tried. but just in case -

Is your character particularly tall? I’ve found in the past that height can make a big difference to the spaces a character can fit through, with shorter characters getting into areas taller ones couldn’t.

Have you tried crouching? That would indicate similarly to the above suggestion.

Finally, just to check, I presume you’ve tried with other (non-argossean) vaulted ceilings? That would help to clarify whether it is a problem specific to the set, or something that happens with vaulted ceilings in general. (Nemedian or Stormglass would be good to check if you can - as far as I recall the Arena set are slightly higher at their midpoint than the versions that came later).

Sorry if all that is obvious, or stuff you’ve already tried, but maybe something here provides a hint that gets us closer. (I think I’ve only ever used Argossean vaulted ceilings around the underside of a base on the water - was always able to swim around beneath it fine, but that’s a very different situation. I’d do some testing but I’m currently not willing to re-install the game until I’ve seen some evidence of the long-promised fixes we’re supposed to be getting.)

Yup. That’s completely wonky. I never had that happen to me (but like I said, it’s been a while since I built with Argossean vaulted).

Good job testing and demonstrating the problem - I’d misunderstood exactly what the issue was.

Thanks.

I misunderstood at first as well. I thought it had to be a character height issue and was ready to go though the process of increasing my character height step by step.

When I saw that I went WTF.

I swear it’s like it’s using the variable placement system such as the Nemedian and Corinthian book cases.
