An inconsistency in the naming.
In the Dregs, you can learn the following armor knowledges after the boss fight.
- The Herpetology (Knowledge) (ID:95001)
- and its epic version Reptile Leather Epic (Knowledge) (ID:52484)

This might seem inconsistent, but I think it’s kind of correct. You study reptiles and unlock the skill/mastery of herpetology. This then allows you to craft reptilian things. Envision they add Salamander Armor to the game later, this would be unlocked by Herpetology. (Edit: As in Epic is a flavor of Herpetology.)
Imagine similarly, you might unlock the mastery of Entomology. You might then have access to the crafting of a Chitin Crown. Or a Bee Bodice.
