Cannot connect to my friend's co-op game

Me and my friend bought the game to play together but when trying to join a co-op server I get the error “Connection to the host has been lost”.

We already tried the “solution” listed on the Common Technical Issues and Solutions thread where you have to past the Broken Highway discovery point and restart the game; and is not working.

There’s another thread with the similar issue but there was no solution on it and it was closed after seven days after lack of answer.

Please also make sure to have your ports open when hosting and/or trying to join the game.

TCP: 3074.
UDP: 88,500,3074,3544,4500.

We would also recommend giving the Dedicated Server app a try, as it removes some of the limitations of the coop game.
