Co-op game with friend does not work

We tried to play with friend in co-op. But the game does not work: we see “trying to connect to the game” and nothing happen.
How can we play together (not on the public servers) ?

same problem here, playing on gamepass version but I saw that is a common problem in steam, that the developers doesn’t have any interest to solve…
