Yes, i have static ip, but even if wouldnot have it - does that matter? i try to find server via its name in server browser but it shows non and that strange
I figured out how to acess server from internet, and it works, but i have some strange issue - if i try to connect to server via server browser in game, (server in favorites) game just loads infinitely, but if i connect through IP directly everything is fine. It happens only with my servver, all other servers can be acecced through wever browser fine.
Can someone test it and try to connect to server?
79.120.76.72 or [RU] Island of Forgotten Souls x2 [PVE-C 18+]
I had no problem accessing the server using Direct Connect on 79.120.76.72, but it does not appear on the server browser.
Interestingly, when I go on the menu, I have nothing shown for “Server Name”, are you missing a name, or does the name contains some fancy characters, because there was definitely no “[RU] Island of Forgotten Souls x2 [PVE-C 18+]” anywhere.
Big thanks for testing. I opened ports 7777, 7778, 27015 and 25575 in router and in windows firewall, in Dedicated server launcher all this ports marked as green dots, so perhaps they working. I have static IP from ISP, so idk what esle i can do to fix that problem.
I will try to change name of the server to something else, maybe it will help.
Also how much time server must be online without turining off to show in server browser? because i start it everyday but i turn it off for night as well as pc.
I’m not quite sure, I know that the original code would tend to prioritize servers with a high up time, not sure how it behaves now.
Just for testing, it would make sense to let the server run without interruptions (other than planned restarts and updates) for a couple of days and see if that helps.
I am getting the following message in the Launcher log related to my Discord messages for server status.
SendDiscordWebhookMessage: Received ‘{“code”: 50109, “message”: “The request body contains invalid JSON.”}’ back when sending message ‘The server is back online’ to the Discord Webhook URL
Found the solution for now, the optional name field does not appear to actually be optional. If there is nothing there then I get the above error. If I put something in that field then it sends the messages successfully.
It used to be optional, I guess they changed something in the protocol - again -.
Have you noticed anything else in the discord webhook not working as expected?
This may be an odd question, but I’d like to only allow connections from my local network. Is there a simple way to achieve this?
I suspect that not port forwarding (or blocking on the firewall) the game port should have this effect.
I solved the issue, blank server name was Hosav UI mod issue, in server browser all seems to be normal, i was able to connect to it whrought is name, not IP, so all is working fine now.
Also on some reddit post i found that for steam i need to open 41765 that port too, idk was it is or not but i opened it in router and firewall too.
I just guessed, maybe its just a coincidence
I asked the wrong question, sorry about that! What I meant to ask; is there a way I can connect to my local server without having an internet connection to the rest of the world?
The reason I need this is because every time my internet drops due to weather; we get kicked from our local server which is a little tedious.
I’m not actually sure, I need to ask the team.
Can you see any messages in the server and game logs that could hint at the reason why you are kicked?
So I asked the question, and apparently the initial requirement for a valid connection is to identify/authenticate the players.
The second issue, the fact you get kicked from the local server is something different, are you connected using the server browser or using direct connect with the local ip address of the server?
I have been direct connecting with the local IP address, without the port attached at the end for a few days. The problem persists regardless of direct connecting or server browser connection.
Regarding this, authenticating the player on the local server or as a connection to Funcom?
Quick edit: I will have to check the server log next time it happens to see if anything jumps out at me.
Is there a github or something with older versions of the launcher? This new launcher seems to have bricked a lot of things.
If you go on the very first post, there’s “Release History”, with every single version you can fetch from there.
This new launcher seems to have bricked a lot of things.
Do you have some details about what was “bricked” because of the launcher?
There’s no official list because they were mostly for me when doing testing, no guarantee they can be used by anyone else, but for what’s worth there are 4 of them:
-basefolder which can be used to tell the DSL that the subfolder where stuff is saved is somewhere else (I use that in visual studio because I don’t want to download the game server inside my source code repository)
Ex: -basefolder D:\ConanDedicatedServerLauncher
-gamefolder which gives the name of the folder where the game is actually installed (the one that defaults to ConanExilesDedicatedServer inside the main folder), no idea if that works, not used in years.
-steamid and -steamidclient which can be used to override default 443030 and 440900 values used with SteamCMD to deploy the server and the mods, and which in theory could be used to deploy other games but they would have to use the exact file structure with the same stuff at the same place, so probably would not work.
The bottom line: You can use them, but that’s at your own risk, I’m not going to maintain or improve these because they are not part of the “public API” and don’t work well with other things, like the “auto start DSL on startup” does not know anything about the command line switches, and I’m not going to add some more complicated stuff to make it work
Im not 100% sure that its related to the launcher, but restart announcements no longer work. The game seems to want to crash shortly after a restart. Decay timers no longer work after I updated to this launcher. So my database has been bloated 300+mb, even using older scripts to clean it out isn’t helping as far as stability. God bubbles have been infinite as well as the “days old” resets on every reset as well.
