Edit2: So, i made sure the IP was the same, opened rules for both in and out for 7777 and 27015 again and i could enter the server… The test is still red, but i could enter the game, so, thank you anyway, you can ignore the post!
Most VPN create some new “virtual network card”, so in theory you can pick-up the one you want in the combo with the list of network adapters.
Now, running the game server through the VPN, that’s another ball of pain, I know some people have been able to do that with some VPN, but it’s probably extremely complex (or possibly impossible) to do with most of them.
You can use a VPN that has Split tunneling.
@FixingDeer I’ve been experimenting a bit with improving the generated HTML:
- Added some class names
- The list of things are now proper ul/li lists
- The label name of list elements is skinable separately
- I replaced the text mode buttons by actual HTML buttons.
If everything goes well, that should be in the next version.
Base appearance:
The css classes:
And the end result:
@Ethernet I thought about your proxy issue, and I’m still not sure what I need to do.
Is it the / in the URL which is problematic?
Would that change anything if instead of /login it was login, and if instead of /remote?operation=start it was remote?operation=start ?
Orange… does it support aubergine?
I does not come without any CSS, it’s just what I used for testing.
I have a dedicated server on which I installed mods. Now I have removed some of the mods and added others. The problem is that when I start the server after these changes, I get the error message: “LogStreaming:Error: Couldn’t find file for package /Game/Systems/I_HighHeelsSystem requested by async loading code. NameToLoad: /Game/Systems/I_HighHeelsSystem.” I have searched for all residual files of that mod in order to eliminate any trace of it. I have uninstalled the server launcher and reinstalled it from scratch. I have even uninstalled the game and reinstalled it. No matter what I do, when I reconfigure the server, I still get the same error as if it is looking for a mod that I no longer have or use. I have also deleted the modlist on both the client and the server, as well as all .pak files. In fact, I have started the server without adding any mods, but I still get the same error; it keeps “searching” for the files. Any suggestions or help? Thank you.
I am sorry to reply to a completely different thing here, but I have a question:
I have reinstalled my server, that I run on my own machine, because I am getting the "npc names in english and “x language” when dead/notification. I had set up the server with Europe at first and then switched to North America, later.
However, even after the reinstall upon first switching it on, in the server log, this appears:
“[2023.05.14-22.07.45:493][ 0]LogTextLocalizationManager: No specific translations for (‘de-DE’) exist, so (‘de’) translations will be used.”
I have never set “de-DE” anywhere in this app. The only place “german” would be set, is in windows, as I am a german living in the US and most comfortable with a german keyboard layout, that is what is set in my windows settings.
If you need any more info, please let me know
Back up your database, make a new server completely from scratch, start it so it loads with no mods to start, then move over the database from the server you wish to restore with the truncated modlist and see if that fixes it.
does it just appear in the log or is there some in-game effect? Lots of stuff show up in the log that really have no bearing on functionality. Also, the launcher is kind of secondary to the in game settings. You can always change settings by editing the files directly or in the server settings in game.
Hmmm, I have so much stuff from my mods, so I would rather not, but I guess, it’s the only road left to travel.
Yes, the main effect is that NPCs have english names (i.e. Darfari Blacksmith III) while alive and unconscious, but once they are thralled (in case of fighters/archers) or dead, their names appear in german (i.e. Darfarischer Schmied III).
It’s simply pulling me out of the game every damn time.
Ok, I have transferred my db to the single player location, and guess what, everything is in english, no problem, so it must be some kind of setting or something on the server…
Edit: Same mod setup and load order.
Still confused on how to make multiple servers, I see a comment to put each server in its own folder, but how does that look? What files need to be separated, where do you place the separated folders, and what should you name them?
At this point, I need to run a couple of servers on the same dedicated OVH server. Will I need to create a new IP or can I use the same one with different ports? what does that look like with the Multihome?
To create multiple servers, simply create multiple directories and place one copy of the DSL in each of the (empty) directories.
example:
D:\Server1
D:\Server2
Then you can run each of the DSLs from within those directories and they will create all the necessary subdirectories and files. I recommend having at LEAST 5g of RAM per server, if you try to run 3 servers on a system that only has 16g of total system RAM, you will starve the OS and possibly crash your system.
No, you can use the same IP with different ports, obviously you will need to open all the appropriate ports in your router/firewall.
Obviously just remember to check the Multihome option in the DSL and you can use the Direct Connect from the server menu screen in the game. Don’t forget, if these servers are running on the same machine you’re gaming on, they’ll take roughly 5g of your system RAM (per server) away from your game.
BTW ~ Welcome to the forum and best of luck to ya!
I’ve been using the default message to send to my Discord channel. The link was clickable.
“The {servername} server is now open, please join us on {steamconnect}”
However, recently, Discord stops making the {steamconnect} link clickable. We have to copy and paste the link to a browser to join. Quite tedious. Do you guys know why this happened? We did not change anything.
Now… I’m trying to use markdown format like [{steamconnect}]({steamconnect})
but still, it does not work. How can we make these join links clickable again? Is it a problem with Discord, not with this server tool?
Dont know of it will work, but have you tried [ url]< discordinvite>[/url]
Minus the space before url
@lamle I don’t know what Discord changed, all the {} things do it literally to insert something in the string message, in this case the URL string, but Discord regularly change their API so possibly something changed there, if you manage to get it working again, please share the information.
@boomchita As answered by others, it’s probably some stuff in the game.db that still references mod information
@Battousai124 The only thing that happens with the DSL when you change the Server Region is that the value of ‘serverRegion’ in the [ServerSettings] section serversettings.ini get changed. There are probably some localization related settings that can be tweaked, but I don’t know these, maybe compare the single player ini files and the server ini files and check if there are some language related ones which are set on one and not on the other.
@Ashember as explained by @DaVice , each DSL only manages one server, so you need multiple folders, each one as a DSL with its own set of parameters, they can all share the same IP as long as you have different sets of ports used (and alternatively if you have multiple network cards on the machine you can use different ones for each server), this will work as long as everything is properly forwarded on the router.
HI and thanks for your work on DSL.
We are running Isle of Men, 300 level, and Nail Puller mods. There’re only 2 of us on the server and we were able to play just fine until about recently, where no non-thrall npcs load anymore.
Starting a new server with the same mods works fine, but we can’t use the old server, even with a backup. Do you know which file I can try to modify to get them to spawn? Thanks!
Normally the files that matter are all in ConanSandbox\Saved
- The Config folder with all the ini files
- Game.db which contains the actual “save game”
in addition there’s also the modlist.txt in ConanSandbox\Mods
Now, what does triggers the loading of stuff, I’ve no idea, that’s an actual game question, I do not have an answer for you.
Good luck!
