I play Single Player and wondering where my mods went in EU5. Are they gone for good, or is there a possibility they will be devkit into this version? And if not, how do I get back to EU4 version?
You cannot currently use your UE4 mods unless the mod author decides to port them to UE5. You will need to switch back to legacy mode in Steam/Settings, redownload the client data, and then play on UE4 until your mods have been updated for UE5 by the author.
Thanks for the info, Kaiowas. Back to EU4 I guess, but I love the new graphics in EU5. Iâll just wait it out. ![]()
They only worked with a handful of modders so far. The core group of top modders has only had the dev kit since last night. This will take a few weeks (or even months), depending on what youâre using. Unfortunately, if a mod is no longer being updated, youâll have to delete it to play in UE5. Make sure you back up your UE4 save folder.
Funcom works hard with the modders - hihiâŠ
Have you look in the workshop yet? There are a number of mods that are already listed as âenhancedâ AKA UE5 version. Some are listed as âLegacyâ or even âUE4â, others do not have any listing so just assume they are UE4. But expect over the next few days a lot more mods to be updated for UE5 as well.
There really is no official way to see if a mod is compatible with the new version. There are several that say âEnhancedâ but itâs just a name. few seem to say âUE5â. From what I can see it seems like VERY few mods are compatible. None of my subs show up at all, but trying to find ones that have something like [Enhanced] or have it in the icon there is like nothin. itâs too bad since it takes away a massive amount of features.
ah snap.
Unfortunately none of my mods are listed⊠guess weâll see if old moders are still playing.
Yeah, Iâm figuring on sticking to vanilla for a while and hoping some favourites get updated in due course. Iâm pretty sure most of the modders have only recently got the devkit, and for some mods thereâs a lot more work than others. I know people have said that map mods probably wonât transition at all, itâll probably need to be new ones instead; and Iâve heard rumours that AOC canât transition (probably too much map stuff there as well, even if the rest might have worked). But I figure a lot of the most popular mods will transition at some point.
It would be nice to have a thread where there is a list of mods that have been updated to work with UE5, so we can see the progress.
From the mpd discord, any mods that are for UE5 will say âEnhancedâ. and any for UE4 will have âLegacyâ. The devs are cirrently auto updating the UE4, so bpank is also UE4 for now. And unless the conversation changed after midnight last night, If a mod is on both, they will have didderent ids. So onve the autp update is done, should be easy to search by legacy, enhanced.
Unfortunately, the authors of some large and popular mods have announced they wonât be porting their mods. For example, the âAge of Calamitousâ mod wonât be ported to UE 5. As far as I know, ToT mods wonât be ported. Also, all large maps will almost certainly refuse to be ported to the new engine. Hosav, however, promised to port EEWA to UE 5.
ToT Custom and Sudo have already been adapted for Enhanced. ![]()

Ah, well, then I was wrong. Thatâs good news. I hope they can partially compensate for the disgusting display of nudity in UE 5.
