They still use their own animation but they do use the weapon yes.
currently the zombies seem to be the best in terms of power and life…
I consider this a feature not a bug. Even better, you can take the zombie strike and equip on your hotbar. That way you can fight like a zombie too.
Well is the developers currently investigating the subject. so it’s a bug.
