Suggestion for the programmer - server launcher pulling collections

It would be a huge QoL if the Dedicated Server Launcher could pull a mod collection. It is a tedious process if the server has many many mods and handle like one by one, specially when things go wrong and you need to identify which mod is which number when you need to make changes. It is less of a headache creating a collection and processing there changes like mod order or removing/installing old/new mods.

Can it be implemented in this tool? I had before a rented server and it was possible to do just that. The server maintenance was much more easier, faster and gave less pain.

Merry Christmas! :christmas_tree:

@CodeMage was writing a new launcher in his spare time. Maybe throw him a request and see if some of your holiday wishes can come true. I have no idea how far he made it or whether he will take requests, but it never hurts to ask. As a side note, I am interested in hearing an update on his progress as well. :heart_hands:

 This is the post where he described his intentions. Best of luck @Chloe.

Edit - I just realized that you said “Dedicated Server Launcher.” So everything I just suggested is likely moot.

Yeah, I was just going to point out that mine is a client launcher, not the server launcher

I got sort-of sidetracked by the whole “can I extract map info from mods” thing that you linked to, and I finally made it work recently, in an executable of its own. Now I’m working on adding that to Bugle, and then I’ll add the single-player part of the launcher. Once I have that, I’ll share it as “pre-alpha” – or whatever you want to call a version that is far from feature-complete but is actually useful – and see what horrible bugs and crashes people experience with it :stuck_out_tongue:

Yes, it is about that tool, I came up with the suggestion 'cause having hard time processing mods and changes through the server launcher. This is from the post by Ignasi:

“Our Tools Programmer Mickaël put together a tool to let you more easily set up and run a dedicated Conan Exiles server. After a few rounds of iterating, we wanted to make this tool available to you guys for testing and feedback.”

Well, I copied and paste my post as a reply to Ignasi’s post. Hope they can do it

Yes @Chloe, I noticed you pasted it there. That is the right place for your request. :grinning:

Thanks for the update @CodeMage :+1: I’m looking forward to hearing more when you’re ready to share an alpha version. :sunglasses:
