Turrets are kill stealing jerks

Circumstances : Supply Drop event

If you place a turret in line of sight and range of a supply drop crate, the turret will shoot the crate, “killing” it and denying you its contents.

Interesting. IIRC, with players, it doesn’t matter who destroys the crate, other one can still loot it.
