On top of being a self-breaking root-spell, it will continue to tick on a dead enemy after the person has ressurected and dropped the Shield of the Fallen effect, if the enemy took fatal damage from this spell, and can only be fixed by relogging, thereby being a permanent damage source, though the root part of it does not persist.
