Vanishing followers

Basic Info:

Platform: Steam
Issue Type: Gameplay

Map: Exiled Lands
Server Name: Server offline
Mods: Do not remember

Bug Description:

I went out of town, and was offline for several days. When I logged back in, five level 20 followers had vanished. One was a horse. No one else was on the server, and they were not near enemies. They were no longer on the follower list, and there was nothing in the logs. No followers remained.

Bug Reproduction:

Level followers, then logout for a few days. When you login, the followers will be gone. I have the game configured so that the character does not stay in the world when logged out.

And what are your settings regarding followers and decay? By the way if you have admin access to this server you can just restore your old game from backup when all of them were safe and sound.
